Consumer carbon tax cancelled, gas prices plummet
TBNewsWatch

Correction: the consumer carbon tax is not cancelled, ditched, or scrapped. It's paused. It was written into law under bill C-74 and would need the sitting government to pass a bill to repeal it in order to completely eliminate it. Vote wisely.

Why does homelessness appear to be solved every year between November and May?

So if I owned a double lot for decades, you'd be ok with the city coming and taking it if I don't want to give it up?Wow.I don't know what to say to that.

"The oil companies are THE most profitable in the history of civilization."Which makes them an excellent investment choice. But how profitable were they a few years ago when the price of oil was negative? "They receive massive tax breaks and incentives from governments around the globe as well." What tax breaks and incentives exist that other sectors don't get? And after factoring in those, how much money do oil companies remit to government in the form of taxes and royalties annually? What about all the "Big Oil" employees that pay taxes? "It's price gouging for excessive profits and shareholder dividend cheques."Those pesky shareholders, getting paid all those dividends. Maybe you should check your retirement investments. You are likely a shareholder. Kudos to you if you have removed any and all "Big Oil" from your retirement investments and walk the walk, but most of the complainers about "Big Oil" don't.

Inflation. Amazing.Hopefully TBnewswatch doesn't deem the above anti-liberal, otherwise it will never get posted. Conservatives are bad. Maybe that will help get this comment posted.

And yet, the salary shaming sunshine list criteria of $100,000 has remained unchanged for... how many decades now?Minimum wage has increased by probably $30,000 per year in the time we've been shaming public servants.

It had been quite a few months of the liberal supporters on this site criticizing the conservatives plan (meaningless slogan, I think they always called it) to ax the tax. Where will the makeup for lost tax dollars come from, they asked. And now....silence. where are all the critics now? Looking for you, Rock...

I suppose it is a rarity these days if you're a member of the klimate kult. All the more reason to cry "kLiMaTe cHaNgE!!!!" when we get 30 cm in 2 days.Make normal weather seem abnormal, and everything fits the narrative.

$800 - lol. Try $311.79 return. $134.99 there on May 1st, $176.80 back on May 8th. With your user name you sure don't seem to be a fan of facts.

Regardless of whether they're overpaid or not, here's another couple 3% raises over the next couple of years. But lets keep the public shaming sunshine list at the same level it's been at for the last 30 years. Makes total sense.

^This. If it were truly a homeless problem, we would have news stories of people freezing to death in their tents at Marina Park and kam river park during the winter. I don't recall seeing those news stories. It's a choice for them to live in these encampments.100%.

Believe it or not, not everyone has their life in intricately tied to a smart phone such that they have to have their phone within arm's reach 24/7. For some, a smart phone is simply a tool, similar to the cordless drill that sits in my garage until I need it.

Oh, it's 3 years now of no snow? Weird. I have pics on my phone from the first weekend in April 2022 being up to my armpits in snow just 20 km north of tbay while sledding. Similar for April of 2021, although the snow wasn't as deep as two years ago. Don't make up weather. Yes, we had little snow last winter. But definitely not the last 3 winters.
