If it was a mistake like he says, why in 3 years was there ever a grey area purchase that was put on his personal card by mistake. He has ONE card in his wallet for ALL purchases and it belongs to the city.
This is a great idea, but how many councilors can honestly say they even knew Mr Turcotte? Why should they have the final say. If it is a community facility, then put it to a community vote.
Enough is enough. The volunteers do a fantastic job and deserve all the credit in the world. Lets look at the city as a whole, and not just the two parts that get all the work. Downtown is loaded with flowers to the point we use how many man hours to take care of them all. Where do all those man hours go in the winter when one can barely access downtown. We have people on the streets that don't even have water on the +30 days, but you will always see someone driving around on a John deere making sure the plants have water and VACUUMING downtown. Meanwhile everyone is dodging potholes all over town. Drive anywhere near the glass whitehouse and you wont see a weed or plant out of place.
This council just rubber stamps everything that comes across their desk without ANY thought process at all. It is all about parades and picnics with these people. I guess its easy when you are spending someone else's money. Roads and infrastructure need work, but lets pour our money into more flowers for downtown, it will look nice for when the judges come to town, and maybe we will get a "pat on the back". There is not a snowballs chance in .... that installing and removing the docks won be an extra.
After reading your comment, i would have guessed you are a comedian, not a business man.if you need speak to him at battalion games, then YOU buy his ticket. He has an office at city hall, go see him their to address any issues you have.
You break into someone's house, all bets are off. You don't wait to see what the guy is bringing to the fight before you react. I guess this chief expects you to sit the guy down and make him breakfast?
If someone happens to be running from danger, and needs help, they may not have access to a cell phone to use, so a buzzer system is a great idea (IMO).
$200,000 is plenty to spend. Let's shut it down and call it a day. Maybe it is time to put our big boy pants on and deal with the real issues that we have going on, and stop pretending that its all about picnics and parades.
It"s a perfect comparison if you are comparing Ford's group and the Leafs hockey team. Both have too many overpaid guys, and each year nothing gets accomplished!!
rwrh, i am all for giving a warning if it was a rule that some may not know about, but anyone who has a drivers license is aware of this policy, but choose to do it anyway.
