SIU investigating police-involved shooting near Kakabeka

Hmm. There should be nothing to investigate. If the suspect shot at police They were totally in the right to eliminate the threat. Also if this person would shoot at the police, they sure would not hesitate to shoot at a general member of the public. I am in full support of the police on this matter.

This would be a sensible decision by council. Put the kibosh on this central library plan.

The Chief is right FWFN and the public should have been notified immediately

In Canada, CN and CPKC Police Service officers generally have jurisdiction within 500 metres of any property that the railway company owns, possesses, or administers. This jurisdiction is authorized under section 44(1) of the federal Railway Safety Act. I got a fine last summer for riding a mobility scooter too close to the tracks. Why are the railway police not dealing with at least two of these encampment sites ?

The mayor is indeed correct. Human rights approach ???? Hmm what about the human rights of seniors who are afraid to go walk in Their neighborhood. or the human rights of those who wish to walk Their pets or bring Their children on certain recreational trails and parks ? How about those folks who may want to have guests and or just sit around Their back yard fire pit or have a back yard BBQ but have an encampment beside Their back yard ? But because They may not be suffering homelessness ,addiction or mental health issues Their human rights appear to be nullified. Being able to tout the law is not a human right.

Way too many of the DSSAB buildings are plagued by these dealers. I live in one of these seniors buildings. But it unfortunately is quite the battle for DSSAB to get these dealers out. Kinneawaya legal clinic and others go above and beyond to keep these undesirables from being evicted. This they have rights crap has gone way too far. What about those who are seniors in Their 60s 70s and 80s ? Where are Their rights ?

Very true. But sadly a lot of those now driving trucks on Our roads most likely cannot read English or French

While I applaud this bill. The Ford govt would need to get it's rental housing tribunal back in line. According to the rental housing tribunals own rules tenants who commit or allow to be committed illegal acts on the premises are to be evicted. But with all the bleeding hearts They have rights groups and a legal clinic that has an (eviction prevention program) in place these evictions are few and far between. It quite often takes many months for DSSAB or any other landlord to even get a hearing, and then a vast majority of the time the tribunal sides with the problem tenants. So how would it be fair to nail the landlords when the Ford govt tribunal is slow to get hearings and very hard to get an eviction. I live in a DSSAB seniors building that is plagued by these drug houses. But DSSAB hare very hard pressed to remove these problem tenants

Bang on Wayne. They have said from the start that it will be low barrier and that those in there will be allowed to use any illegal drug they want, and now that they will make them pay rent. Thus making the city the landlord and making certain that the city will not find any agency wanting to run this village.

Yes Carney is right there with Guilbeault. He is a climate fanatic

They want more jobs and more money. They know that Ford is planning to place sales in grocery and others. Not rocket science. Do They not stop and think. This may well hasten Ford to push sales to these other store seven quicker. It could back fire on Them big time and in fact end up with no pay iincrease and less jobs. Silly rabbits

Supposed to be done by early 2027. By then it will probably be near the 100 mil mark.

Carney has not directly said he would scrap the policy but has signalled he is open to alternatives.“If you are going to take out the carbon tax, you should replace it with something that is at least, if not more effective,” Carney said to the media last week during his campaign launch.Guilbeault has been a vocal defender of the carbon tax.. {Note if You watch Carney interview. He uses the term carbon pricing. Same old same old}
