Anyone with half a brain should understand that the bus companies aren't going to risk the lives of your children for any reason. I would think that you should appreciate this instead of complaining about it. Like Carleton said, busing is not a right, it is a priveledge. If you want your children to be at school, simply drive them there. Teachers are all there waiting for you.
We had someone leave a full bag of soiled adult diapers at the end of our driveway on Forest Ave a couple of years ago! It makes me wonder what people are thinking when they do stuff like that. Thankfully the garbage truck picked it up a week later and I didn't have to touch it.
Permits purchased after December 1st are $294 per sled. 88,000 trail permits were sold in 2021/2022 (most recent stats available) which adds up to $25,872,000. Even if everyone purchased their trail permit in October at $214 it still comes to $18,832,000. If clubs are run by volunteers, then where is that money going? Why is their no funding available from OFSC? What happens to all of that money?
Let's be clear. If the majority of students stay home on a snow day, teachers can't deliver a full lesson to 3 or 4 students because the ones that stayed home will miss it. If these two students want to learn, they should come to school and ask their teacher for help with their existing assignments. It's a perfect opportunity for them to get some one on one support, yet they choose to stay home.
