'It's sad': Classrooms dark as Georgian's Orillia campus closes

For many students in Orillia, losing a local campus creates real barriers—not opportunities.Single parents, students working multiple jobs, and those already facing financial strain can’t simply commute to Barrie. For some, this decision will mean putting their education on hold altogether. Let’s also be clear about accountability. Years of tuition freezes and chronic under funding under the Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario, led by Doug Ford, have contributed to the financial strain colleges are now facing. Students and communities like Orillia shouldn’t be the ones paying the price.
