OPINION: The struggle to get a job in Guelph is real; Let's change that

If you don’t think that the massive immigration to solve our “labour shortage” has anything to do with the current difficulty Canadians have find work, you clearly haven’t taken a class in basic economics on your way to becoming a “journalist”.Your opinion on the matter is incoherent.

“Since then, overdose deaths have continued to slowly decrease, as they have since 2023 in Canada and the United States.”Overdose deaths have decreased since the sites closed. It is right there in black and white.“Guelph has seen "reports of escalated behaviours in the downtown core" since April, Wellington Guelph Drug Strategy manager Jean Hopkins said.”So arrest and incarcerate them, which would already be happening if the police and courts were doing their jobs.

Our problems aren’t going to be solved with cheap theatrics.

I work for a municipality, make six figures, and will be getting a defined benefit pension in a few years. So I am mostly insulated from the Trudeau government’s catastrophic immigration policy. Notice how that doesn’t stop me for acknowledging the problem.

Canada brought in those 7 million people specifically because they wanted wages to go down while housing went up. It wasn’t a mistake.

And if you ask the developer why we aren’t building housing they will say “because approvals take too long”. Meanwhile, the developer just refuses to submit a plan that follows basic rules.

All of this makes sense once you realize that Canada isn’t a country, it is just a corrupt scheme to inflate asset prices.

Too bad it was designed for 50k less than that.

This college has been selling post-graduate work permits, not education.Nature is healing.

If you think the speed signs are "huge", you are ignorant of the facts. The reality is that the signs are small and are placed so that by the time you can see them you already have a ticket. There is a perfectly rational reason for this. The municipality isn't interested in slowing people down, they are interested in shifting the tax burden onto non-residents.

It looks like a tacky amusement park.

If you think the the signage is "abundant" you clearly don't have a basic understanding of the way these cameras have been implemented, and probably shouldn't be commenting until you do.

You don’t end up using a trailer as part of your hospital when you have been making competent decisions.

Don’t worry real estate investors, our corrupt Prim Minister is now obfuscating immigration data so he can pretend to lower immigration numbers while doing exactly the opposite.

Canada is becoming a dystopian place.

@River V it shouldn’t be this way, but this is what people keep voting for. Our government isn’t concerned with maintaining a society in which children are born when they can just import working age males from South Asia.

This college is a virus.

So the Mayor wants developers to build roads so the city can avoid having to become competent at this task.
It wouldn’t have mattered. Even if the landlord was granted a rehearing the LTB still would have found that the landlord abused the N12 process because her “daughter” needed to occupy the unit for a minimum of 12 months after she moved in. The bottom line is the landlord is crook, and if you are defending crooks what does that say about you?
