Gosh Sandra, am not into usa politics but it has been on tv, you tube, internet a lot/news. Am I watching different presentations than you are? Um.. glamour? My take is it is joy, it is common sense, it is truth. Harris cant put two words together? Are you joking? She is so eloquent and professional. It is almost sad, almost sad, to see D.T. floundering - and being caught in so many untruths..... I don't favour either side politically but from what I have seen, read and heard, it is totally opposite to what you feel. ???
.... I agree about the new "Trump Talk" - name calling, saying innocent people are enemies, you know what I mean: verbal bullets.... please please don't let Canadian politicians start to copy him.. or is it too late? WE can make a difference if we do not fall into their disgusting ways.
Unbelievable you are not getting support. Wondering if you stop paying taxes and case goes to Court and you show the judge the pictures and share the above... could the City be sued. To be quite honesty I am seriously having to decide whether or not to continue having appointments with two legit medical offices Main East... I have a heart, I feel for people in distress such as homeless esp. if mental health problems, but why should YOU be in distress over a situation none of us would be comfortable with, seems like it is illegal, and frightening! Perhaps our new Chief of Police could advise... this is so WRONG.
Sadly every day we will be reading or listening to an luneducated, egomaniac, mentally ill tyrant and who, when and where he is punishing a person or country.... there is no way to stop this as long as his buddies and maga's rule: he made sure his path would be clear when he became President... to do exactly what he wants when he wants.... there is no easy way out: imho we have to try and find common ground here in Canada because if we are all at odds with each other we will lose strength to deal with him.
I am all in support of giving people " a helping hand - a hand up" but all this is turning into even more of a problem than ever envisioned after living here fifty years.. sickening.
Gauthier1 Over 50,000 people in Canada died from Covid, and many milions ill, recovered completely or not and still suffering post Covid syndrome... how much higher would those figures have been had we not masked, distanced, and as you term it, had "Lockdowns." What if all businesses had decided to stay open "for all their right reasons" - if all hospital visitors and doctors and staff had decided they knew best by not taking precautions?? If other venues had not installed hand disinfectant etc etc. School closures; isolation; doctors working night and day; people unable to attend funerals of loved ones - we ALL suffered for various reasons FOR THE GOOD OF ALL. It was not a time to be selfish and do whatever WE felt was "the right reason." - a Global illness, Pandemic, could have been even worse had we not put our personal views aside.
....prefer the money to to charity but asctually voted to put the 80 MILLION back into the system... because otherwise the next poll will be: which charities should get the money! rather than choosing best to treast it "as usual" but certainly don't dump it.. that does not make sense
Because both my now adult children worked in the service industry, from chip stands, to large Hotels in B.C. to help put themselves through College and University, yes I do tip. Even if you say: keep the change, it all adds up. I do try and make sure I tip the person and not add it into the bill for the owner of whatever service... you should see the faces light up of some delivery people, just to give them enough for a cup of coffee; and a bit extra at Christmas ... I have been there, done that. I still feel it is the customers' choice whether to and when to, or not!
Ah how honest of you Mr.Chippa to acknowledge what happened.... no one can take away from you your dedication and thoughfulness for those less fortunate. It is so true that even the very best employee, supervisor or even "boss" etc. can be the very best, have good intentions but can't be everything to everyone, e.g. financial adviser as well as regular work load ... will be interesting to see how things work out in the future - hope you enjoy some "for me" time. J.
...be carefu what you wish for. Beware of the unknown... and "the devil you know is better than the devil you don't know" ... don't shoot the Messenger ! To be honest I would not want the job as p.m. of any country these days - times have changed, from young to old people feel entitled, many do not respect the "rules" and it will never be possible "to go back." Covid did indeed add to the problem....we hear, read about, see within seconds of it happening, such horrible news from many countries - a daily diet of stress we have to wade through. JMO
Totally agree, yet when we get upset at the millions for an ice rink, money for a new deck at the Cove and the list goes on.. it's not that we are anti-recreation... just like our budgets at home we have to deal with the necessities of life and then if money left over, we get the treats. This is, imho, the very very worst Council North Bayt has even had. Mayor issue, Cassellholme issues, and the list goes on.... now this, we are fed up, to say the least.
...rwrh I did think the same thing with a quick read of this ... I may be wrong but even "politics asid" there is something about this guy turns me off... !!!
Totally disgusting behaviour by dogs and owners! This is why, even though we have had in the past a docile well controlled/mannered pet dog, I do NOT trust any other dog anywhere! These people make it bad for the rest of the dogs and owners! Sue sue sue.... sticking her tongue out indeed: what nerve! Hide your coloured hair and head in shame!
.... many people who gamble do so responsibly... many gamblers never learn. Family member years ago was a life long gambler berfore any ads, before Internet: be it local card games, pool hall, visiting fairgrounds, later Las Vegas and phoning relatives to send money so he could actually leave there! Always hoping for the "big win" while family suffered and ultimately left. Ads dont cause the problems... but they aren't helping either.
soowat Have you never or ever not had enough money to buy groceries. I have. Low income, children.... nope dont smoke or drink alcohol so get that out of the equation....sending child to school with nothing to eat at lunchtime. of course people are struggling and have X amount of money to spend... $10 for a bag of whatever truly grown in Canada vs $5 from, say, Mexico. Thankfully due mainly to parent dying and getting a bit of money in the bank, I can make the choice.. many cannot... am sure we all want to protect Canadian jobs when we can. Thanks.
....hard to be positive to this news: so one councillor and a local swimming/exercise group is taking over The Cove because their Y is closed for the summer.... The Cove has been used by families for decades and admired by visitors to the City who appreciate its natural "beauty" .. with no input from local residents, no input from people and families who use the beach and park the way it is .. another case of the tail wagging the dog !! And Councillor, there has not been a lifeguard there for years! Thumbs down from me (as if it matters)
