This is a very poorly worded question - why present it only as an all or nothing proposition? There could be an option to start production for those who might be most susceptible to an outbreak (elderly / immunodeficient). Also making enough vaccine for everyone is also silly because we know not everyone going to take it.We should should start to be prepared for a worst case scenario, but there's no need to go all in.
It's an absolute shame that the local riding association is shut out from choosing the best candidate for the locals. Political parties need to stop interfering in local decision making and stop parachuting in their prefered candidates. What are the chances we ever even see this guy? It was hard enough to get a hold of Ross to do anything for the Soo, and this guy would be worse.
I hate it when politicians are obsessed with these selfish legacy building ideas, when all the voters want is for their governments to do the the things that they are supposed to do properly. We can start to think about things like this when the downtown is cleaned up and safe again, when there are no more potholes on our roads, when they get some financial control over the police budget, when they can finally close the sale of the old hospital etc etc etc. Until then I don't want to hear about any of this nonsense.
Ignoring penning the letter with a fake name, I think another huge issue is that no where does he disclose his affiliations with Chris Scott or the Stevenson campaign, depriving readers of some important information when considering the viewpoint of the letter.Additionally, Vierimaa writes in his piece, "We need transparency.... not scapegoating or secrecy."He does this without a hint of hypocrisy or irony.I hope this young man learns a lesson from all this.
Hope someone is keeping track of all the people who were supportive of Ford’s pre-election giveaway, but have a problem with Trudeau doing the exact same thing.(both moves are indefensible for the record)
What you might be missing is that this is most likely geared to women and families who have been victims of abuse and who could not otherwise afford to move out and away from their abuser. This is definitely needed and a worthwhile cause.
The fact of the matter is that the Conservatives can complain as much as they want about these backstabbers, and that if the Libs get their majority they can claim it's illegitimate - but, if the Cons were in the same position, they would do the exact same thing. They won't try to change the rules because they don't want to handcuff themselves for the next time they are in a position to benefit. The simplest way to fix this is to make a rule that if you want to change parties you need to immediately have a by-election and let the voters decide if they want the change.
Provincial Conservatives meddled with the nomination contest and now they're doing it at the federal level. All contests should be open and free with elections Canada overseeing. Enough with this nonsense.
