Province introduces legislation to limit bike lanes on major roads

Best news ever! Perhaps maybe more of our taxpayers dollars will go towards road repairs rather than increasing traffic congestion by reducing car lanes and creating bike lanes that are rarely used.

Better to vote and NOT vote for him than to not vote at all.

Just something for thought....PCs axe the tax logo....it doesn't mean no tax but a different tax. Either a different ine at the federal level or the decision to have the provinces determine their own carbon tax plan. And if by some miracle there is no carbon tax at all do you really think prices will lower? No. Corporations will just have an increased profit margin.

Carney is Trudeau. Freeland was against Trudeaus ease of spending and she finally had it with him when he tried to replace her with someone more like him. Carney is not a good idea. we'd just be replacing one lemon with another. Freeland is the best replacement. she does not believe in wasteful and unfair spendin. She knows the consumer cannot continue with the carbon tax. said it has done its job and it is now time to scrap it. if she's elected ...then PeePees axe the tax is no longer voter leverage. We might not get a Liberal PM in the big election but I feel it's dangerous for middle/low income Canadians to have a majority PC. Gone will be women's reproductive rights. and MAID. Gone are govt subsidies and support cheques and OAS at age 65...wants to push it to age 70. Tax breaks only for ultra wealthy. all talk & lies to get the votes but is zero on the action side of it. also in cahoots with Elon Musk. Bad news. Also polls mean nothing. Its the actual votes that count.

She left because she disagreed with JT and his wasteful and unfair spending. She had a job to do and finally stood up to him. And when he wanted to demote her and replace her with Carney that tells me that she does not have the same beliefs as Justin after all and Justin thought Carney more aligns with him. I dont want another Justin leader. I feel Freeland will do a better job and listen to what the people want and need...including scrapping the carbon tax.

It's about time we have an entirely new council and Mayor. People that listen to the citizens and do not assume (tax) money grows on trees. I am so close to being taxed into homelessness. We need a council that cares.

What a waste of time and money. Did they really think they'd win putting provincial blame on a global pandemic? Wow.

I'm okay with an early election if there's a chance to NOT vote for Ford.

If improved health care and more doctors is important consider Green. That's a big focus of that party. Just vote. Winner is by percentage of actual voters.

Not impressed. This increase alone is greater than my cost of living pension increases and add to that utility and other increases coming our way.

How does same traffic trying to merge and flow down one lane vs two lanes NOT cause traffic congestion?

It is heading the same direction as what happened at Conestoga. No care for accommodation as long as enrollment goes up and up and up. They admitted they doubled and tripled students in their residents and I bet that hadn't stopped. Now we are going to see that happen off campus with more than the legal limit of students per accommodation as well. Yes more student housing is being built but that won't happen for the fall. When UoG does this it impacts everyone. And I thought they have a teaching shortage and classroom shortage too. I fear these students will not have suitable accommodation and also the quality of their education will be impaired too. All for the sake of money and lack of suitable govt funding.

I feel there needs to be a rule about the number of consecutive terms council including mayor can have. We need fresh ideas and also understanding that us taxpayers can't handle much more. Our taxes increasing much greater thannour cost of living increases is unacceptable. I also feel priorities need to be looked at again. Road Damage, homelessness and affordable housing including for seniors should take priority. Downtown beautification and bicycle lanes are NOT priorities when other things are getting worse.

I agree the transit system is broken. I've been in Guelph all my life and as a teen and early 20s relied heavily on it. It was great as affordable and got from a to b in less than 30 min. Loved it stopped in downtown right in the square. Now...more than 4 decades later....I am scared to use the bus. Read of assaults on them and at the downtown hub. They are not really useful for someone of my disability who cannot stand more than 5 min without agony and cannot take the rocking and jolting around. I disagree that busses are good for the disabled ...except perhaps the mobility bus. I also disagree private cars are the main problem with emissions. Govt already determined it accounts for only about 10% of the problem. It's industrial emissions that is the main issue. Lastly city wants for force us to buy more ecars and heat pumps. First not enough infrastructure. 2nd...heat pumps do not perform well in this climate without still having another heat source.

Not getting rid of my gas car. New ecars twice as expensive. Sorry. Not getting rid of my gas furnace. New heat pumps more than 3x as expensive. And if you want me to recycle... have your garbage trucks pick up my complexes garbage vs us having to have it picked up privately. You need to review your emissions targets. Have them comply better upper govt levels perhaps. They are too tight. Gas vehicles will be continued to be built in Canada for another 10 years.

I keep my front light on 24/7 for my personal safety. The closest light in my complex burned out many years ago. No bylaw will stop me from keeping that light on.

I live in poverty so yes I shall take it. However it doesn't mean he's buying my vote. Will never vote for him. Ever. He is partial cause to my living my retirement in poverty. I only wish my check was more. I am out thousands of dollars because I retired after bill 124 ended and yet never got retroactive money as only given to existing employees. And before that my wages were frozen. Anyways I shall take that $200 not that it helps much at all.

Why do you think the tariff war done??? It's only just begun. Many retailers and companies are still using pre-tariff stock and pre-tariff prices. When they have to reorder at the higher prices our prices will go up too. Don't be fooled. Until they write up the new tariff agreements all over the world it shall not be done. Can weeks months or even years. Trump is unpredictable. As long as he's president we need a PM that can handle him and not cave in to him.
11
Happened too late but glad he's going and hope the party not only gets a better PM but does a major reassessment of their platforms. I'd love there to be a strong party in Canada that works for ALL Canadians and not just the rich and working. I'm fed up of voting based in a lesser of the evils approach.

Lessen parking......more crowded parking on Janefield. Parking at Stone Rd Mall parkimg lot or Shoppers. Great idea! Not! And busses around there are already congested. Can just imagine the impact on thise.
