“You’re giving them a free place to live, free food, a free cheque and free drugs - you’re giving them zero incentive to stop,” said Barber. The statement above says it all. Unfortunately the NDP provincial gov't has blinders on when it comes to reality.
400,000 liberals were registered to vote. 151,000 ticked the boxes on the ballot. This means 249,000 opted not to vote. Hardly a resounding display of support for any of the 4 candidates.
Hopefully the NDP govt will read this article and take off the blinders and address the issues facing the public and RCMP with their catch and release and failed drug policies.
Spruce up downtown with the drug induced homeless issue staring them in the face. What planet are these people from? The first issue to be addressed is to get rid of the drug induced homeless and theft issues. Flower beds and new lighting won't fix the problems downtown.
The city bought the old Simon Fraser hotel. The hotel would have paid city taxes so that revenue is gone forever. The pool should have been built neat the Y and not in the cesspool of downtown PG.
Not sure what these dudes are smoking. Their proposal is to rip down Kopar arena which has seating for about 1500 and build a new arena with seating for 4500 and also develop a park on the same foot print. Anyone who has even been at Kopar realizes the existing foot print is quite small and their is no excess room.Forget the downtown and build at rink near the CN center and Kins where their is better access and parking. Council has already built the new pool in the wrong spot and now they want to waste more millions trying to drag the citizens of PG to the downtown cesspool.
Hand digging fence post holes. Someone inform the city power augers have been available for years, unless the city does not want to make noise and wake up the residents of the flats. Also a single axle truck with sides is not considered a flat bed truck. Trash bins might be more appropriate.
