This is the kind of man Mayor McIsaac is . He cares for Orillia and it’s residents and goes above and beyond as a human citizen with kindness and compassion ,not as the mayor , but as a human being. Thanks Don McIsaac .

It is not about being an angel ! It is about breaking the traffic laws of speeding and prompting drivers to get the message and slow down .

I agree with needing a new perspective and in that case there are some old set in their ways, don’t change Orillia from the stagnant state to more modern thinking councillors that should be excusing themselves from municipal politics . Also, there is more to this story than is being forwarded to the public at this time due to the legal aspects of the whole issue , so it needs to unfold with the legal process . Do you really think that even if the petition is successful that Trevor Lee would actually accept the position. If I were him , I would say thank you for your efforts but no thank you!

If anyone can get this up and running with professional business quality and leadership it is Brent and Sarah Johnston. They already possess so much experience in the business community in our area and they know tough times first hand and how to push through to survive them . Looking forward to shopping in this new store and wishing them every success .

Not for everyone, but good for him for choosing less to give his soul more! His dog is beautiful!

Yep, saw this one coming . Not a wise decision to plant such wide root spreading trees . Foresight is a marvellous thing. Now we face expense of removal , sidewalk repair and replacing with something aesthetically pleasing . I understand the safety issue . Have been seeing it unfold over the last couple years with the roots uplifting the paver stones . Hope council has thought many years ahead with their replacement design .

Mrs Baylis you are right on the money . As an aging retired registered nurse , I have been part of the Dying with Dignity movement sending correspondence at the local and federal levels for a couple of years now , especially for the right to make advanced MAiD decisions in the event of dementia in any form . Thank you for publicly addressing this very important advanced planning life choice .

What a wonderful crosswalk to remember all who fought and served for our country and the perfect spot for it . Thanks to legion committee and city council for working together to make this happen .

That sign that Ms Simard-Toutant is standing beside in the photo says a reduction in parking spaces from 32 to 31 . One space less is causing all this angst?

I go by this site three times a week and have never smelled any odour . Maybe it is during the night that it is released .

As always Krystal Hewitt from SOS first and foremost goes into rescue mode for the injured animal and then finds the words to educate the humans responsible for the act. Wishing “lucky” a full and speedy recovery .

Good on you Glenna Tinney for your unwavering dedication and support to your profession and OSMH registered nursing alumnae . Well done!👏👍

It is a good use of this site for those in need of shelter from the cold , even if it is only temporary for the winter .

Well written article ! The humour does help to offset the frustration l The last pass by of the plow on our street almost four days ago made no sense at all . The driver was only using the wing blade . The front blade was never dropped to push the.snow.Our street is absolutely a thick thick mess of snow and cars are not navigating well being pulled from deep snow rut to deep snow rut . Very sad .

Who, what, why…This is an excellent question .Just a thought , not a fact , but just maybe there was a racial bias against it . And, I agree the man in the position is doing a great job.

I am an advocate of MAiD especially for advanced consent while you still have cognitive faculties to do so for dementia and Alzheimer’s so that your wishes to choose MAID should you become demented due to a natural aging process or a disease process before you are too mentally debilitated to make the decision or consent can be documented with your physician and your medical directive power of attorney. This is one of the areas that is sadly not available for people wanting MAiD. Helen Long is doing great work at the Government level to advocate for this inclusion .

This is such a shame. I loved the intimacy of the small theatre and the productions with local talent were very well done . Also , not good that that Jesse Collins was not given a heads up before trying to set up the annual meeting for the next season .
