I don't see anywhere in the article where the protesters ask for money to be sent to Iran. In fact, their argument is the with more freedom in their homeland, they would go back. That idea should please all the anti-imigration keyboard politicos sitting in their basements.
So this is the first time in four years that they have found anything. That indicates that their stage 1 surveys have not been very effective. Sounds like a huge waste of effort.
It looks to me like Carney managed to shut Trumps mouth. I haven't heard 51st state since they spoke. That's the type of strong leader I would support as opposed to a Trump parrot!
Unfortunately this is common practice with administrative staff in government. For example, while the college cries poor, it always pays top administrators staff a full year of salary after they retire. They also spend a lot of.money topping up pensions for admin staff that make more that the max allowed for under CPP and other pension limits
"proof of concept in our success" What success? To get government money? You have taken on risk? Where are the board members who started this fiasco? Why aren't they taking on the risk? You need this facility to because of your massive collection? Maybe sell some of your collection to pay the bills YOU have incurred!
You are exactly right! If their assets are so valuable, they should sell some to cover their liabilities! This is like someone driving a Rolls Royce asking the public for gas money!
What are the servicing costs for this site? As a previous railroad right of way, are there sewer and water and electrical services to this lot? I doubt it.
This is yet another attempt to isolate council from the opinion of the voter. For example, when you provide written comment on a zoning proposal, that info no longer gets into the report to council. Rather, admin "summarizes" your input which allows them to skew your position in their favour. When did we decide to let unelected administrative personnel control our city?
"What you see depends on how you look". It's called perspective. From a risk assessment point of view, the "acceptability" of a risk depends upon your perspective and whether you voluntarily assume a risk or whether it is forced upon you.Take the example of second hand smoke. If you are smoker who hangs out in smokey bars, second hand smoke is an acceptable risk. If you are a non-smoker who works waiting tables in that bar to put a roof over your head - not so much.As a resident of Thunder Bay who sees very, very little potential personal benefit from the transportation and storage of nuclear waste through and in this region, the risk is not acceptable to me.
Sorry Goofball. Don't assume the first 20 feet is crown land! That varies by location.People make the same assumptions about Hydro lines. In MANY cases, that is private property and Hydro simply has a lease to allow access for THEIR employees only! People should also know that under the Trespass Act, the owner of the property or their agent has the right to arrest you for trespassing. By the way - there is NO need to post No Trespassing signs!
Increase in fees with no increase in service - sounds like the increase in parking fees and extended times that is already driving business away from the downtown cores and marina park.
