Thank you for sharing. This victim fought a scary fight and thank god for the students who stopped to help her. It’s important for everyone in the community to be on alert, especially if alone, particularly women and girls. There are predators out there and human trafficking is also a thing. We have beautiful trails all over the city that everyone should continue to enjoy, with caution and a buddy, if able.
Some tenants may fall on bad days, but this bill isn’t to protect landlords against those people. It’s about those who live for free on a landlord’s dime for months at a time. It needs to end!
Mr Fiddler, according to this article, you claim this person’s life may have been lost due to cold weather conditions and hunger.Did you consider doing a root cause analysis to determine why this person did not access services for the homeless which were only a few blocks away? The shelter beds have not been at capacity from what I have read. Which begs the question, why are homeless people not choosing to access these? Why are the resources that are in place not effective? Mr Fiddler, I would challenge you and your team to do a deep dive into this. Maybe survey those who are in the cold weather instead of shelters, provide them with the education about existing resources, etc. We may have not met the threshold for declaring a state of emergency as our resources aren’t at capacity. If there’s underutilization, it’s important to know why so this can be addressed. Nobody wants to see humans living on the streets, especially in the cold.
The number of people who do not stop at the crosswalk on Walsh near St Pat’s is ridiculous! There are small kids from the elementary school nearby that cross here, as well as teens from the high school. Some drivers insist on creeping upon/and turning when kids are crossing. It is very unsafe. Drivers need to learn patience, you are not that important!
Who would put a thumbs down to this story and comments?! Personally, I’m not upset that these people won instead of me, they need it more than I do at the moment.
