Not very often due I totally agree with this weekly commentator BUT this report here did a great job of describing the Federal Conservative Leader fully. His "Ax the Tax!" is so extreme a continuous "RANT" but hopefully everyone listening to him does realize he simply has "ZEREO" plan in place or even dreamt up as yet to do anything he keeps ranting about including his famous "Ax the Tax". His rants are unbelievable similar to Trump's "I have a Plan" without any semblance of any Plan being in place or even within an infancy of being created. The similarities between these two is actually very very scary to say the least. Canada certainly doesn't need any "Trump Carbon Copy" here running the government!
Why does this "self appointed wanna be reporter/ complainer" every week do nothing but complain / complain / complain & throw in numerous insults along his way + today add in the most hilarious remark stating he has a "subjective point of view" re anything? Does anyone else believe this constant non-stop complaining suggests it's time for him to take a long - long vacation elsewhere??
None of this follow up nor the original article makes any sense. All Power of Sales by BANKS are handled with very strict protocol. The problem started at whatever Lender had claimed this as a true "Power of Sale". Also no reputable lawyer would have allowed this to proceed onward to a closing & giving of balance of funds to anyone. Realize this buyer believes he bought from a legitimate & actual Bank & used a trusted lawyer to even consider proceeding in the first place. Zero "closing funds" should ever be turned over to anyone until a final walk-thru of (in this case Vacant site).....& the Buyers lawyer has rec'd the keys to a locked & secured site + confirmed all utilities, city taxes etc had been paid up to date. There are so many unprovided details or answers here which make this an absolutely absurd report.
If it comes down to a choice re former O.R. grounds being between a new Hospital so desperately needed since the loss of the original St Joseph's Hospital & a Park why does it not seem logical to go with the most needed one of the two being another new hospital. We have a great selection of local Parks & forested areas here but having only one hospital to service the entire area is actually ridiculous.
The writer obviously doesn't live anywhere near the tons of student housing areas spread throughout this city! Although we all know the cost is not cheap by any stretch of most of our budgets; the hours & I mean hour(s) with that "s" that this is carried occurs. It doesn't even need be any recognized "holiday". All that is req'd is a number of cases of beer or liquor & gatherings to celebrate whatever that creates many of these gatherings & perhaps a "Mom & Pops" with very deep pockets to cover the rediculous cost of items that simply go up in smoke into the environment.
Any time I have travelled along that area mentioned; I have never noticed any traffic congestion build-up created re lack of # of lanes. Congestion build up thro-out this City is due to the lack of "Round-Abouts" to keep traffic flowing. Larger close-by cities like K/W & Cambridge have tons of roundabouts to ease congestion concerns due to lights every few blocks. Even much smaller Villages & Hamlets (e.g. Elora & Aberfoyle) move flow of traffic onward with use of them without need to add more extra lanes. Why is Guelph into this lane widening instead? It's time this City started thinking "round-abouts" to ease congestion & get rid of all these traffic lights with extra time motionless while sit thru left turn lane lights added into the mix.
Perhaps totally unrelated somewhat but during specific times of the year we had a policy of various requirements for all to adhere to. Street clean -up schedules + fall leaf removal = winter snow removal during major storms etc. The one aside from those that drives me nuts is the lack of enforcement of no overnight parking during the stated winter month periods. When excess cars (usually tenant owner) park on the street not only overnight but sit there for up to 3 to 4 days without any movement occurs on a regular basis & someone calls By-Law to drop by any mentioned pockets of town the reply the last few years has been they don't have the time nor staff to monitor these ongoing not only nuisances but in some cases dangerous or prevention of street maintenance, garbage pick-up weekly etc etc. Why are our By-Laws not being enforced throughout this city & why are staff allowed to simply state they are too busy or short staffed to handle any issues as they unfold??
What about the major excessive delay re lack of what appears like approx 4 to 5 hr work hrs per day on Wellington & some days even less hours than that.....not counting coffee breaks.? Does anyone from the city staff simply sit in an unmarked vehicle close-by in any parking lot & watch the lack of activity there? We all believe in supporting local contractors .....but.....this example of lack of progress & nil activity is prominently noticeable every day now for well over a month.
To clarify if you did not get the jist of my comment. I'm talking about hours & hours of fireworks being used at wild & noisy student parties with of course the added liquids of either beer or liquor (guess add etc too) so you get my drift. Homeowners with dogs in those areas terrified & humans lack of sleep should count for something.
I know & understand why this great location of B of M has to close. I prefer to go to this branch downtown. It is a shame; but everyone could see closure coming for at least last 4 to 5 years +. Every time I go; it is usually empty except for one teller & the branch manager. I get great quick & friendly service & feel safe inside ..but.... from parking lot into building people from next door from the time you open your car door or walk up to the bank entry are asking for money etc. . The city & police.... & especially those operating facility next door in former church..... do nothing to stop this harassment by their patrons in that pocket including across the street at the RBC in what used to be a "great" St George's Square. We'd like to support the unique shops & these bank(s)..... Many more will probably need close after centuries being there too quite soon. We as citizens have to feel sorry for these banks & great long term shops & employees!
Although I do love fish & chips ....maybe this location / area selected should have been reviewed bit deeper. This will be just down the street from Golden Fish & Chips that's been in corner plaza at Woodlawn for decades. I'll probably drive the couple extra blocks cause I do like their fish & their service there. Hope this location choice doesn't make one of the two go out of business due to being close by sorta neighbours.
Guest exemptions??? What about the daily & nightly cars parking as if they own the streets that are there at least every night no matter what the weather is. These permanent hinderances not only effect snow removal but safe street access for everyone including weekly garbage pick-up or perhaps even an occasional actual "guest" for a short visit to an actual residence??
I believe a review of further back into history is not only needed but required. Believe there have been other deaths created by accidents at this same intersection. One that comes to mind was a very prominent local doctor & ironically & sadly also his wife a few years later at that same intersection. Although was decades ago & very upsetting to the entire community & all of Wellington County back then....nothing has been done over the years to fix / end this very dangerous area from these further accidents that have caused either very serious injuries or deaths to occur.
Guess you should have considered the thought by whomever suggested love it here or simply leave. This bid expense I believe does not materialize unless bid is successfully awarded here. The CHL also more likely will award the event to the other teams you mention as our Arena was not built anywhere near the size of most others so the dollar income at the gate just isn't there for them to reap the benefit from on whatever % split is made.
Is this report missing some detail re the woman......Lists the charges she faces but no mention of any bail posted & out till any trial?? Simply states : released from custody......
CTV Kitchener Newscast recently had a review of the full washroom including shower (possible showers) & even a washer & dryer in the basement level of that former church beside the B of M parking lot.......Why does the square itself have any need for any washroom there ?? Most citizens will be using their home facilities before & after any very short short visit downtown when have a need to go there. The large fountain & family statue should remain exactly as they are without any downsizing or moving it. As other poster mentioned who can envision children playing on any playground equipment in that location so why consider that as an useful feature? Plant some more trees with higher branches of course to keep that area safe. Leave it along & use the money in a more useful area of need.
Too bad they didn't update us sooner re these changes. Don't recall any posting of this info previously posted. Many folks like myself will need short thru their Gray Bin items already in that sort prep & pull out those items now to place into Blue Bin instead.
Hope their daily work scheduled actual hours of activity are not similar to the lack of much (if any ) work being done on Wellington btwn Wyndham & Gordon for last 4 months. One look at the recently revised signage @ WENDY's demo's frustration of not just traffic but the destruction of long term local businesses. Road repairs should mean work actually in progress ----- not short, short workdays & unnoticeable actual work activity there for months now. Case you haven't noticed WENDY's recent Sign change--- perhaps asking for HELP! It reads: MEAL OF MISFORTUNE ! ?
