At the bottom of the overpass at the marina is not very attractive for tourists and city folk alike. It always looks like a garbage dump there, sorry but that’s the truth

If this passes and trucks have to go down the expressway, think of the backlash that will happen once the first collision occurs, going to be a death trap on the expressway.

Yeah giving it to the over budget art gallery lol

He should restructure all the city depts first by cutting management jobs. Let’s face it there are some “managers” who might have 3 workers below them. Time to really trim the fat in the city it is sooooo long overdue. This city administration/ management/workers could very effectively run with 40% less people

The rising costs should not fall on the city it should fall on the builder. This happens EVERYTIME this city wants to build/fix something., it always overbudget. Art Gallery... over budget.... pedestrian crosswalk bridge over water st, when that got fixed....it went over budget...... soccer plex will go over budget. Does the city not have that in the tendering process that cost over runs should fall on the builder? Won’t that make the bidding process be a little more truthfull then just having and going with the lowest bid which in the case of Thunder Bay ends up by the time the project is done is the highest cost?

Have you ever lived around an area where they build divided highways? Some seem to think you cut down the trees and slap down pavement. To see the work on a regular basis 6 days a week for 12 hrs a day… I see why it takes a long time, tree removal, blasting rock, moving and installing new hydro towers, back filling and the list goes on and on and on.

$800,000 on the negative side for Thunder Bay fire. Along with the billboard about wage gaps with police fire and EMS these articles have basically said it about these wages. TBay Fire should be paid per call and not paid to sleep as police and EMS do not have that luxury. Maybe TBayFire should look at going to a compensate dept, huge savings there

So now no one under 19 can work at these establishments, is that correct?Yes the theft/robbery rate is sure to go up

Thanks again to Thunder Bay city council and C Halverson for wasting yet another ton of money on the tug. You sold it, paid a small fortune to buy it back, then he let it sink....paid another small fortune to raise it up now your going to pay another small fortune to scrap it....yes this city is a mess but you act so casual about it all, it’s embarrassing the money that is wasted in this city. If this doesn’t get posted I guess ppl don’t like the truth to be heard
12
Completely agree with you, I’ve heard Thunder Bay is looking at closing some fire halls which would mean staff reductions, maybe they need to be paid just when they go on a call not to sleep and cook like you mentioned. Turning it into a composite fire dept should be something the city brass should really consider huge cost savings

Along the same lines as others have mentioned, the fee that the city charges is way too high for many to even consider putting a food trailer down there. I know of some personally that said “yeah the city’s rental fee was so high we just said forget it”
13
Why is it that firefighters are paid to sleep while making an hourly wage but police and paramedics don’t get to sleep? I know many would disagree but fire fighters should be paid per call and not a straight wage. All these high wages have to come from taxpayers and it’s not getting any cheaper. This would definitely help the city’s bottom $$ without compromising public safety

Pretty small piece of property to build a hotel, like it’s tiny really

So ban trucks from 102 but make them go down 11/17 thru 3 extra intersections where there is way more traffic and many more opportunities for major accidents to happen just doesn’t make sense. Going up 102 is the fastest way to get them out of Thunder Bay. The name on the transport in this accident speaks volumes.

Put toward overages at the art gallery, the multilplex or some other pet project lol
