I’m glad you didn’t apologize! Finally, someone standing up for what the constituents want and need. Enough of the overspending by this council. It’s about time someone stuck their neck out and started asking questions. I’m getting very tired of Hollingsworth and Caputo, two council members that love hearing themselves talk.
Kudos to Councillor Kinach for attempting to bring attention to our veterans in the Soo. Although the poppy is frowned upon by some Legion members for being walked upon I believe Mr Kinach has good intentions and I’d like to hear more. Many cities in Canada have already put poppies on crosswalks temporarily around Remembrance Day. With so much money being spent numerous times on pride colours, etc. I think we can all agree that more attention belongs on our veterans.
I was unfortunately at your emergency department on the weekend and saw with my own eyes that our current system is like a third world country. People were lined up down the halls and the seats in the waiting rooms (fast track included) were full. A specific culture that has recently been brought in was the majority of the population waiting to be seen along with those that we see roaming our downtown core. I’ve said it many times before and I’ll say it again….way too many immigrants being brought into our community when our current situation was already suffering. The physician recruitment team needs to scout out a soon to be graduating medical student and pay them a bonus to come here. Make them sign a contract or something.
That stretch has been long overdue for a redo but an hour and and half wait is beyond ridiculous! It doesn’t get dark until 9….why not work longer daylight hours? The rest of people in construction do.
I’ve been around for many years and I’ve never heard the sound as loud as it was today. They are obviously doing something different????? When people’s houses are shaking from as far as Hilton Beach and Heyden there is obviously something wrong! Are you not training people properly????? Sounds like our city was lucky that only one person was injured!
How is it I pay $7000.00 in Hilton Beach and get no garbage, on a well, septic and no plowing of my road in the winter? At the last village meeting they discussed cutting off “all emergency services” and now there are no dr’s at the hospital? How do you come up with a rate that high and have so little?
Not worth it to have a nexus card unless you are travelling the Detroit or Port Huron way frequently. There is no benefit to use it at the Soo border and when you attempt to use it at an airport there is usually an issue. I just went through Pearson and the automated machine wanted to “update my picture” even though my nexus didn’t expire for two more years. Just a money grab….nothing else!!!!!
