Police can only do so much… how about we start investigating judges who release violent offenders and drug dealers who “agree” to follow conditions, in loo of jail time?
Imagine… committing violent crimes, dealing drugs all while doing burnouts? Thank goodness TBPD is dealing with the death and destruction plaguing our city!
Wowzers… a lot of intolerant folks on here… I wonder how many of these folks talk like this in real life?I have no dog in this fight but, can’t help but wonder would the same comments be acceptable if it was native, woman, abuse awareness, first responders, etc, etc, etc, day?If this meets community guidelines, I can only imagine the opinions not fit to print.
Real shame… there was once a time if one fell down, two would be there to pick them back up. Now, it’s there fault for falling in the first place, I’m not dirtying my hand by offering help, why can’t the just fall down somewhere else, there happier on the ground, excuse, excuse, excuse.Really disheartening to see the humanity being stripped away from this city, and I’d bet a coffee it’s why the good’uns don’t stay here long before moving on to greener pastures. These folks aren’t dealing drugs, robbing convenience stores, violating people or holding hostages… just saying.
Can’t pause reality for 3+ years without some consequences eh? Can’t help but wonder, what has done more long term damage, the cause or effect from Covid? You should be thanking these folks Joe, they sacrificed EVERYTHING to keep you safe, and no one is pausing reality for even a second to help them. Guilty hides it ugly face from the truth… I didn’t start that fire, besides it’s the hoses fault for being so darned flammable, eh Joe?
The house is on fire and Douglass turns on the kitchen faucet and waits for his pat on the back, it’s kinda scary to think that just a decade ago this Provence was MUCH different. It seems compassion has gone the way of affordable food, fuel, housing, secondary education, healthcare, sad thing it all this and more may never return unless changes are made.
Don’t want to normalize destructive behaviour eh? So I assume you’re giving up that sedentary lifestyle and meeting me at the gym tomorrow?… also, congratulations on giving up alcohol, caffeine, nicotine, fatty foods and additives!
No one or law is going to prevent the hungry from eating, those exposed to the elements to seek shelter, or those under attack from fighting back. When a nation (or Provence in this case) has abundance resources for all compassion is easy. Why do folks strike out on the unfortunate? Beacause deep down they know nowadays, with resources fixed and limited, that they are a few paychecks away from being in a similar situation.Rather than strike out at what you fear, because your instincts dictate you so do, why don’t we try looking logically at the situation? Shaking our fists at the clouds because it’s snowing is getting old, no?
Spoiler alert… with the city’s drug problem and folks willing to travel from near to cash in on, introducing more legit money is only going to feed the underground economy faster. More money to buy, more poisons to sell, more incentive for folks to come from far amd earn there retirement funds in less than 3 months. We need rehabilitation clinics, we need halfway and group housing, we need to fix what’s broken before we can build any further. It’s going to be awefull hard to convince folks already earning high salary to move to the city with the second most violent crime per capita mixed with the drug, petty crime, and city council issues. We need and can do better, but without action with direction we simply won’t.
Yet the trash in our neighbourhoods from McDonald’s, Tim Hortons, marijuana dispensary, or corner store are fine? Me thinks this one doth protest too much…lol…
Hmmm… there’s a drone hovering over my neighbours yard while there underage teen age daughter is sunbathing, must just the police conducting an investigation and not creepy Pete from down the street arranging an exploitation scam using the footage. How about making police “aircraft” visually identifiable as being owned and operated by police in a legal manner, much like police helicopters have been for decades.
Good chunk of these folks lost there lively hoods trying to protect others from Covid when we decided pausing reality was the best course of action. Now that these require protection, none is to be found (in fact I’d argue the exact opposite is being displayed nation wide)How often did you see urban campers pre Covid? How often do you see urban campers post?Regardless of your generation’s collective voting powers, we still have to treat humans as humans, lest we loose our humanity. If we can protect the past, we can also protect the future, no?
Times are tough for a lot of our gen Xers and millenniums, and Covid loans ultimately and unfortunately are still costing folks house and homes. When you live on the financial edge like most of the fine folks here in Thunder Bay, it only takes one or two mishaps before your cut so badly, life will never be the same.If someone falls, we help them stand. When someone cry’s, we provide comfort. When someone suffers we are Canadian and act, not point fingers and shake fists.
To be fair, thunder bays citizens also do not want death, taxes, rainy days, mosquitos, and red lights. Pretending a problem doesn’t exsist does not mean it goes away.
The bulk of these folks lost there lively hoods during Covid to protect others. Now that Covid’s over those same folks are looking for protection. Is it fair that they revive little to no compassion after all that’s been sacrificed on the behalf of others
Wowzers… I see the Gimmie Gimmie generation has weighed in. It’s really sad to see compassion for our youth to go by the wayside, especially after all the sacrifices they made on behalf of our seniors and vulnerable. No good deed, eh?
