Compassion for homeless underway 'with few resources'

Always a social justice warrior around. Sorry, but I disagree. I’ve tried years of empathy, compassion, and understanding and it’s gotten me nowhere but more frustrated and now it’s affecting my life personally. Pretending that people can’t achieve more in life because of trauma, addiction, and mental health is a ridiculous stance to take that continues enabling those that just abuse the handouts. There are, without doubt, many who actually cannot achieve more or heal but there are many more who abuse it.

Think some proof reading should be done on this article as it states that Willow Royer fled the scene with her dog leaving the girl…Anyhow, don’t touch other people’s dogs. Teach your kids to keep their distance and not ask, putting owners in these positions. Simple.

The thoughts of a huge majority of frustrated citizens were pointed out. He was not wrong in his observation.

Will tent cities around the city still be allowed? I can see some people perhaps not wanting to pay rent and continue to reside all over the city on their own terms if it’s allowed.

The city is in shambles and the roads are less than comfortably drivable, but hey, at least a couple of select groups can play soccer indoors. Thumbs up Tbay.

It’s should’ve been scrapped long before costing as much as it already has. It was in a place where not many people would have wanted to go look at it and when it comes down to it, it’s just a boat.

Kids are such bullies these days and need to learn to leave others alone. I wish Kevin all the best and I hope that those responsible will be held accountable.

I’m sorry but as long as basic needs are met, and they are, there should be no complaining allowed. You’re literally in jail for choices you made and caused someone else and their family life, happiness, and well-being for the rest of theirs. Suck it up.

I lack empathy. Lots of people are in bad situations and they make changes in life.

Such a ridiculous waste of money. This struggling city needs to much help and a venue specific to only a small handful of residents seems absurd.

Hope the individual is alright.People on ebikes, scooters, and those little mini wheelchair cars tend to forget the rules that they’re to follow all too often; driving down the middle of a lane, weaving in and out of slow or stopped traffic, veering into the lane when motorists are trying to pass by…

I feel this also. This happens within many families and isn’t aired publicly. The fact that he’s a public figure should not make it any different. Him and his family’s privacy is just as much a right as anyone else’s.

On the north side of town we’ve wondered why our mailOnly gets delivered weekly now and so much of it ends up being weeks late.

If it has to happen, this is an ideal place for it. It’s close to all of the resources people might use.

If I camp on public property for any period of time I’d end up with a ticket and facing a judge if I wanted to reduce the fine…because I have a fixed address…because I work hard to afford one.

A thumbs down? Nice, Thunder Bay, nice. I agree, this is wonderful news to read. It could have had a significantly worse outcome.

“Traffic officers” on scene…with rifles?

This is humorous reading this. The expense of this idea doesn’t make a lick of sense when this poor city has so many more important needs.

They’ve now made this a section of street that is nearly impossible to drive down. Cars stop on both sides to let passengers out, pick up food orders etc and the street is shut down until they move. This was a busy stretch of street prior to taking away parking. Now it’s busy and dangerous. How do emergency vehicles get down there?
