Looks like the board missed a great opportunity to partner with this person instead and celebrate the past as well as generate income for future student projects.
Its funny how people just think the city is going to board up the old library locations and not use them for anything. It will create space for other businesses or organizations to add to their neighbourhoods.
By schools and businesses being open I feel there will be more positive outcomes from learning than there would be from having an additional day off from school or work.If they make it a holiday there will be less progress towards truth & reconciliation as people will just enjoy the day off regardless of for what it stands for not to mention the additional cost to all employers who will have another stat to pay.
Lets add metal signs on a hill that kids can crash into. Its easy to add a few pilons to show a designated sliding area or even better some chalk for snow paint.
What's going to happen if trucks heading east accidently turn on 102? you'll have them turning on twin city or mapleward then have to make unsafe left and turns across traffic to get back onto 11-17. It all comes down to enforcement. Doubt everyday police are just going to sit there and police the truck traffic.

Just go to Monday, Wednesday, Friday delivery schedule. Nobody would even notice the difference. How much would that save? If something is more urgent they can use Purolator.
Could have had the Hockey-Convention Centre and Art Gallary could have been on the top 2 levels of the same building overlooking the Marina @ the Bus Shelter location downtown and it would have been completed years ago.
