If there is any message from the US... and Canada... it's this: Woke is dead. Lefty dreams are not being funded. I have never heard from the lefts, other than to raise taxes, the opportunity for work for homeless, and expectations of out comes, other than free everything.
The problem is staff and a misguided CAO that they can't get rid of. I am tired of watching the City hire more staff to 'administrate' jobs (read tax dollars) to duplicate Simcoe County positions: Housing Coordinator; Climate change , and Food insecurity Coordinator.. They need a Coordinator of: We are wasting tax payers money: Wait, they are called Councilors.... it's anyone awake?
What a pile of leftist propaganda and tears. The freedom of the press is foundational to Democracy, as is freedom of speech. That doesn't mean you can't call something for what it is. Leftist propaganda and tears
Notwithstanding the work they do. A city, any city, is not responsible to fund shortfalls in ANY organization's mission, from Rowing clubs to Cat shelters: if your mission and your passion cannot raise funds DON'T expect taxpayers to do it. 12 of your beds are funded already by tax payers. Council: Wake up and just say No. It's setting a bad precedence.
Stop with the bitter left commentary. Until you do the job you have no idea of what it takes... it's called public service for a reason. Minister Dunlop works hard and is well respected.
Another cry for the CITY to solve a problem with more taxpayer dollars and more regulation and more staff. Volunteers won't fix that. Regulation won't fix that. Enough. Humanely euthanize them..
You would think West Orillia has the 'corner' on bad drivers. If Fallis is so concerned perhaps he can volunteer to be a crossing guard and rotate through every intersection...calmly. Frankly does the city want to make West Orillia pedestrian only.... or a stop sign every 40 feet. Fallis needs a reality check... it's called an election.
This is sad but not a City of Orillia funding issue. We are not a Social Service agency. We are a city. This organization receives 85% of its budget from Tax Pay ers. We have opened the door to every Social Service agency and Non Profit, to solve their crises. We simply cannot.
