TBNewsWatch 7People should really think things out. So--You will need to be trained pretty much like a professional firefighter. You need to be available 24/7/365. You need to have a job that will allow you to leave at any time. You will need to probably not be a drinker-2 drinks you're "drunk" etc, etc,etc. You should be trained and paid properly for this job. As for the notion of the TBay having part time firefighters. If your home and family is involved in a fire situation-heaven forbid-right now the firemen will be there in minutes. You need a suitable amount of firemen to operate a truck. So in a part time situation- you're waiting for the fireman , suit up and show up-20 to 30 mins MINIMUM to show up to the fire. Good bye house. Not to even think how much your insurance would be if you didn't have what you have now. Bottom line you need proper personnel and it'll cost you to have it done properly. You can't live out of the city and have the same benefits of a full fire department.
