Really. And the liberals have been such a fine upstanding party with such excellent fiscal policy right. The liberal party isn't the party of old where the core values aligned very closely with the conservatives. This horrific tenure of Trudeau has decimated the middle class. I'm not sure what you are seeing that's so very different from the majority of us. Rose colored glasses voting party line instead of policy I guess.
Isn't that kind of normal though, teams buying blocks of time for different sports at sport facilities? I know you can't swim when you want at the pools, skate when you want at arenas.. is there something I'm missing ?
Considering carbon tax is from farm to table and we have the majority of product shipped in, carbon tax absolutely affects cost. I'm guessing people aren't understanding that our dollar is at an all time low its obvious the government is responsible. Pierre is on point. Numerous reasons. All the feds fault.
Worse? I remember 10 ish years ago I was lucky if my road was plowed once a week and I'd have to run a snowbank to get onto a main thoroughfare, hoping there were no cars coming. I remember waking my kids and them helping me shovel the road to get to my driveway when I returned home from work in wee early morning hours..I remember Council at that time telling people to wait at the closest cleared driveway to catch the bus, and a child badly injured due to poor sidewalk maintenance, and removal. Not sure where you all were but it's better now than it was then. Older and crankier aren't we.. no doubt it could be better. Bigger budget, more workers, more equipment. Where's the money going to come from. There's a lot of mess the previous mayor left undone that now needs attention. Boohoo I said it.. Things take time and money.
It's a provincial program. The city has no authority over the program. We don't even have bins or information as to what's now allowed in the program. I've heard they are picking through bins and only taking accepted items. The province rolled this out poorly.
Maybe Orillia should find ways to bring industry back that pays a living wage. With majority of our businesses tiny mom and pop or restaurants, how would they afford to increase wages accordingly and maintain the same prices and levels in staff to keep themselves afloat. What employers pay a decent wage because gov jobs here anymore? Or the trades.
What a bunch of petty , juvenile comments. Grow up. Since when is anyone's holiday destination or plans your business. You would think he traveled just to annoy you . Wow, just wow. I'm embarrassed just reading the vitriol.
When I worked on Sparrow Lake the resort owner had a plane.. no one complained about the noise. I recall another business flew in fishing groups to the fish /hunt camps. It never interrupted the comings and goings of boaters, swimmers and water skiers on the lake.
Elmer Ave missed. I thought we were to receive new bins, and maybe information regarding what is accepted in this program... Crickets. My blue bags have been out since Sunday night. This is a provincial program. It's not being implemented very well. Half the items in people's blue boxes are now wet and considered garbage. What a joke. I kept rescuing mine frome being plowed.
Maybe statues pertinent to Canada , its founding, sovereignty, indigenous peoples of importance, veterans and those who served this country on many levels. Ghandi, um no.. I'm first gen Canadian, my father was a soldier fighting along side of Canada . Immigrated as a skilled master mould maker and referred to as an fn' dp , regardless of the lack of tolerance came to Canada for the dream...my husband first Nations vet is Canadian first. We have a core identity and it should be honored and respected.
Elmer off Westmount is a deep, sloppy mess..parents park on the street for school pick up. You can barely drive past, I've had to wait up at Zehrs until after pick up to be able to get to my driveway. This isn't a new thing , but I'm really sick of it.
Under the last council and mayor sidewalks weren't maintained, , their solution if you were at an inaccessible stop was to wait in the next cleared driveway. There hasn't been decent snow removal in decades. I think the mayor and council have to reassess our winter budget and hire and adjust accordingly. We are in the snow belt. Parking lots at the mall and grocery are better maintained. Maybe hire private contractors for some jobs? There has to be a solution.
I wonder why other countries postal service's don't crash and burn like ours has 🤔as many people and businesses utilize the service , yet only in Canada we haven't figured it out. Just keep throwing money at a flawed entity. Cut the fat, just like everything else that bleeds money it's top heavy.
