This is more distraction politics pulling attention away from the fact that the UCP has turned their backs our agricultural producers by allowing Northback to mine Grassy Mountain and poison the headwaters of the Oldman River. Get back to the problems at hand in your province, Smith. Alberta is much, much more than just Oil & Gas.
Good grief! Selling this nonsense and cowardly hunting practice as conservation? One of your UCP cabinet ministers is the owner of a guided hunting outfit catering to rich Americans...Conflict of interest, perhaps? Additionally, you've made it legal for 12 year olds to use firearms UNSUPERVISED now. What could possibly go wrong?! The prefrontal cortex responsible for decision-making and understanding consequences isn't fully formed until humans are 25. This entire UCP party is an illustrated exercise in bad decision making in real time. Honestly, it's embarrassing watching what new and corrupt self-enrichment scheme and subsequent self-congratulatory news release we have to plow through face-palming at every move this government makes daily. Disgraceful and shameful "governance" all around with Slithering Smith and her clown car of a cabinet.
What could possibly go wrong with them self-appointing a retired judge to oversee the process? He has nothing to lose, not event the exorbitant sum he's being paid. Have you seen the video that outlines the depth of the wrongdoing? It stinks. This UCP government is rotten to the core and up to their necks in corruption across all departments, as one of their cabinet ministers said in his resignation summary. We need a PUBLIC inquiry.
The $2 million this farcical report cost could have been used in so many ways actually benefitting Albertans. The provincial election can’t come soon enough
She's wasted millions on scientifically baseless COVID reaction reports, $3.8 million on sourcing groundwater on the heels of allowing Northback to come in and poison the headwaters of the Oldman River Basin, millions on the undelivered Turkish Tylenol, her and her cabinet's trips to Washington Prayer Meetings with Trump's crowd, and the list goes on. How about the $54 million that's currently under investigation being promised to the private healthcare provider, oh and the raise the UCP cabinet gave themselves in January? No tax breaks for Albertans, but the UCP sure seem to be living the high life on our backs.
Maybe the “rainy day fund” can be used to benefit Albertans instead of the UCP party members. Perhaps even to pay off the coal mining companies this government made deals with behind closed doors, instead of them choosing the poisoning of the headwaters of the Oldman River to save face. Next election can’t come soon enough.
Your children won’t thank you for suppressing information about the big, wide world. If you’re not going to teach your children about life, someone else needs to.
Self-serving, thieving, traitorous liar. We see you. The only way you can hang on to your die-hard supporters is by diverting their attention away from your abject failure to govern Alberta successfully with transparency and truth. Shameful!
Why is this government running a deficit? Let's total up all the money that has been wasted in scandalous pay-offs, badly managed medication purchases from suspect suppliers, the list goes on. Let's not forget that the largest cabinet in provincial history certainly managed to find the money to give themselves all a raise in January. #FireTheUCP
She was not authorized to go on a trade mission and speak on behalf of Albertans, nevermind Canada. Considering she thought it appropriate to hold a tv presser from her bed this morning speaking as a (self-invested) authority, she should be publicly reprimanded.
Wonder which one of her buddies are going to get the construction contract for this boondoggle? Forced rehab has miserable success rates with a majority of people relapsing. We should be spending money on mental health to serve these people before they become addicted and homeless. How about spending the money building affordable housing? On the heels of the UCP giving themselves a raise, the largest cabinet in AB history, in January, they've just cut the wages of on-call doctors and made this announcement. Where the heck is all our tax dollars money going? Oh right, into shady real estate deals, shady private healthcare deals,, inappropriate Turkish Tylenol, sending this lot down to Mar-a-lago and to prayer meetings with Trump's lot, and the list goes on and on. When's the next election?
Rural concerns?!?! Ha! Entering into back room deals with mining corporations and allowing them to poison our water sources is very much a rural concern. This government is selling off our resources much like the federal Conservatives did last time they were in power. Now, cozying up to trump and letting her hatred of Trudeau overshadow Canadian concerns is the last straw.
The selenium concentrates will increase exponentially with each day once the mining starts, and all the downstream users, ranchers, residents, agricultural operations who rely on this water will suffer. Livestock will become ill, fetuses deformed, no more fishing, wildlife will suffer. We are already utilizing water saving measures, but potable water will be poisoned for us and guzzled by the mining operations. This government is not looking out for Albertans. The downstream rural communities in Alberta as far as Saskatchewan are furious, and people are demonstrating outside of the AER consultations. This project was previously cancelled after Albertans voted overwhelmingly “NO”. This government must go before they irreversibly destroy everything we hold dear.
Exactly…plus it’s the US border guards who need to step up their game to search and seize other American smugglers who are taking it over our border. Canadian border guards don’t search outgoing vehicles.
The release of selenium into the headwaters is irreversible if this project goes ahead. The ranchers, farmers, residents, and everyone downstream into Saskatchewan will be adversely affected. This project can not be allowed to progress any further. Albertans have voiced their opposition to this project already, ergo it was 'cancelled' and is listed as such on the Gov't of AB website.
I have no idea what that article was about. Was it a thinly veiled attempt to throw shade at the federal dental plan and keep private insurance plans relevant? What nonsense, of course you can keep your private dental coverage while a federal plan is in place. Good grief! Sounds like the Republican's nonsense they tried to use as an argument against universal healthcare in the US.
The election interference in this province is criminal. David Parker and TBA have been fined by Elections Canada for a total of over $100k for fraudulent practices. Why is the premier not speaking to this and what were the ramifications of this election interference. I certainly hope that next election rural Albertans remember the betrayal of their livelihoods by the UCP with respect to the coal moratorium being lifted. Every single minister in this provincial government has some sort of conflict of interest going on. The UCP must go. They are carelessly spending our tax dollars to enrich themselves, lying to us at every turn, deceiving us with the self-congratulatory marketing and social media campaigns, and leaving Albertans in a precarious position not knowing what to believe. Fire them all.
