Trudeau, Biden and other leaders were wrongly accused as being responsible for their countries inflation. But if Trump follows through on this it will be highly inflationary and not just on imported goods. Domestic manufacturers will have to pay extra to import needed materials and others will take advantage of higher prices for imported goods to raise their own prices and profits. I suspect the extra revenue will be used to allow tax cuts but not for average Americans.

Our household of two got $337.50 today i.e. $1350 for the year. Like most Albertans, this more than covers what we pay for in direct and indirect carbon tax. To those for whom it does not, the remedy is simple, reduce your energy consumption it is not that difficult to do.

Based on their recollection of junior high science, the UCP members want CO2 labelled as a foundational nutrient. They should think of the effect that excessive amounts of nutrients have on living organisms. Here is a clue: Is obesity or just being overweight beneficial? Plants are like humans, dogs, and goldfish in that they do not function well when overweight or fed too much. And that is not to mention the increased impact on soil and use of fertilizers.

Ford will put tariffs on electricity to US states and may even cut if off. That will have real impact and I suspect has something to do with Trumps most recent flip flop. Meanwhile, her in Alberta where we have the ability to do something meaningful, Smith does very very little.
