So he is CEO at GFL which stands for green for life, yet pollutes the environment every time he uses his superyacht. Way to go! lol This is what Google AI says about superyachts when I asked if they cause pollution. Yes, superyachts cause significant pollution through massive fuel consumption (CO2, NOx, SOx), noise disrupting marine life, and waste (sewage, plastics), contributing heavily to climate change and marine ecosystem damage, with their individual carbon footprints often exceeding small countries' emissions.Even though it is a hydrogen hybrid he still uses regular fuel so don't let the words fool you! "Green Infrastructure is paying most of the cost of demolishing the old hospital and and redeveloping the property." The old hospital is still standing and appears to be a spot to store large equipment. Quite similar to the new police station downtown; it is a place to park cars.
In Ontario if you have a car accident, the insurance company does not pay out first. If you have benefits through work then it pays first and the insurance company picks up the slack to a certain amount. So why are we paying auto insurance?
Need more information but from what I have read, this sounds like a solid viable plan. We need industry that will enhance our business economy, not stifle it.
To You Need This - BORED is the son of a well known business owner that has been in the downtown area for several decades, it was just covered up. Pardon the pun, lol, same as his graffiti. Same associations, same patrols, same terrible results. Community Safety and Crime Prevention is not an ideology that can be copied, it has to be experienced from the street level. Walk the talk!
Is Vair feeding us nonsense again? Don’t know how any work is being done to demolish buildings. They just move large equipment around from the front to the back of the building. The workers must fly to get to work. There are no vehicles on the lot.
I don’t live in the Wawa area but lived in Goulais River for over 10 years. I believe washouts like this one happen on a yearly basis. Our Highway 17 North needs work. It is a health and safety concern.
I fail to see the concern for this issue. If I own a business downtown, then it is my right to park in front if I like. If the issue is a lack of parking spaces downtown then that should have been addressed prior to the major work they just completed.
I moved next door and in a few months moved out. First of all these buildings were never built as condos and only called that in the latest real estate boom to increase rent. They are apartment buildings only which means additional perks like added security do not exist. On top of that police response is minimal to none. Landlords are not equipped to deal with addicts nor should they and most parking lots are exposed to crime just like everywhere else in town. Good Luck. This is downtown so contact the Mayor’s office, they took over the area and are responsible now.
Hello Mike, my condolences for your mom and dad. My family went through a similar situation with my dad who died in the hospital because they were not able to get him into a long term care facility. No one works together: SAH, Northeast LIN, long term care, doctors, etc. My dad had been at Pathways and then in the hospital. A few times they returned him to Pathways without our knowledge only to have him go back to the hospital by ambulance. He had horrible care while in the hospital and their main concern was to get him home asap. The hospital’s main concern was not to advocate for us, the family, it was to have an empty bed. He died December 18 in the hospital after having shoddy care with nurses who needed further training and doctors who were barely present.
Josh Ingram is in charge of the plaza. City council should know this. New police presence downtown such as foot patrols but have not seen them yet. Every evening addicts enjoy the plaza as it’s a great place to shoot up!
