Imagine if our Provincial and Federal ELECTED individuals had this same mentality! We need to foster making a better relationship with those who are also affected by politics. You were elected to represent your constituents and I as one am appalled by your personal disrespect. You represent us, sometimes your personal feelings need to be put aside for the good of all of us,This meeting is trying to mend a few bridges and there you are trying to tear them down further.

So when there is an emergency vehicle heading down Black Road - racing to the hospital and cars need to pull to the right do we just take out the bollards?Does the ambulance needing to get by and possibly straddling the yellow line just zig zag thru the bollards or run them over. While the bollards may serve some purpose, they may also be a hindrance to safe delivery of a trauma patient!

Trump keeps talking about Canada becoming the 51st State.Maybe he should understand the process required for such a move and understand it would never happen.Read this link for an understanding on how ludicrous his statements are.https://globalnews.ca/news/11017917/canada-51st-state-how-process-worksAnd Puerto Rico has been trying to become a state for the last 15 years and has been rejected by the process. So just more blustering by the orange man. Also time for our MSM to quite the fear mongering and move on.

You could lower the speed to 5 KPH & Queen will still not be a destination.Face it, when you close your doors at 5pm and Sundays, you are telling the working public you have no interest in their business. City spent over $11 million for a park in the middle of the downtown, how has that worked to increase traffic to the businesses? Business owners did this to themselves. A vibrant after 5pm downtown existed in the 70's and into the late 80's; they killed their businesses by not catering to the public.Aging population, Homeless panhandlers & boutiques have had a detrimental affect.Shoppers have a specific destination in mind when they venture out. be it a Queen street business, Mall, Walmart, HD, Cdn Tire etc.Our world has moved on from the once leisurely pace, now time is of the essence A slow speed will deter people from using Queen to get to the West end or the Mall and increase traffic on Wellington & other indirect routes to bypass a pending 2 lane parking lot

A 70 cent dollar and $10 to cross and back plays a much bigger role.US prices mirror ours on groceries so it is much better for those Americans to shop in our stores.TDS plays very little in my decisions to spend less time in USA.

So for $8 million you have a safe, reliable bridge that will last for years. For $7.2 million you have nothing. How is this even reasonable?? Elected leaders are supposed to listen to those who elected them, yet would not even address at a meetingWinds of change need to happen quickly.

What about those that deliver to apartments and the multitude of residential boxes???The company that delivers the mail to the pickup boxes was out this morning dropping off the mail!!!As for walking in slush - that's what boots are for. Part of their allowance for boots.

While it is great to look for the Red Maple Leaf on the shelves, be vigilant when you purchase. Just came from a local store and items with a Red Leaf on the shelf turned out to be product of Mexico and not Canada. While they are not US, they are not Canadian and I will still buy. Also noticed in one store that some produce - tomatoes - no longer have a sticker on each one and are in a bin with a big Maple leaf. Not saying hanky panky, but......

So how much did the pre feasibility study cost the city? The article states "The pre-feasibility study was done with a $50,000 grant from the Thunder Bay-based Centre for Research and Innovation in the Bio-Economy (CRIBE)"But that does not say it covered the whole cost only that a grant was involved.A little more clarity required.

Algoma Steel which will supply roughly 860 metric tons of steel for the structure’s base. That sounds great!Algoma produces 3 MILLION tons per year or 8200 Tons per day.So this is one shifts production.Just more spin !!

The winner becomes Prime Minister DESIGNATE.Trudeau then must seek out the Governor General and resign as Prime Minister and the new designate takes over as PM.Hence why Trudeau is saying there will be a transition period. He is no longer the Leader of his party, but is still PM until he decides if/when he wants to resign!!!!So a few days, a week or maybe after the G7 meeting in June. The Liberal party does not have a mechanism in place to remove Trudeau from being PM - he is just no longer the leader of the Liberal party.Strange Canadian politics!!!!

"Last week, city councilors made some other important decisions, tweaking how that overall tax burden should be distributed among tax classes: residential, industrial, commercial, etc."Okay:Now how about posting which councilors voted FOR and which ones AGAINST; so we can see which ones we need to contact.

Sheehan has been in the Liberal fold since 2015 and a supposed spokesperson for Canadian Steel industry. All the while the Chinese continue to dump their product into Canada and the Libs have yet to put a any substantial tariffs in place to assist our Canadian producers including Algoma in his home riding. All talk - no action!!!

So one of the busier intersections in the city. One would think the traffic services would at LEAST retime the lights to allow for better traffic movement due to the backup this creates. While the work needs to get done, does anybody in traffic planning look ahead and think " Maybe we should try and improve what is going to be a problem?"

Round Caster was never finished and has now become the CoGen plant. No possibility of getting rounds.Algoma is a 2 trick pony- Strip(Coils) and Plate. With the continuous dumping of Chinese steel their days are numbered.
