The city hasn't maintained or plowed the sidewalks by the parking lot all winter. Snow was built up to the retaining walls. The city has also left the garbage cans in disgrace, garbage everywhere. I thought Hillcrest park was supposed to be a destination for tourists.
Instead of banning all trucks off Dawson 102 put weight restrictions in place. Or send more deliveries by train. Less transports. But I'm sure the trucking industry wouldn't agree
Seniors should have their own secure low income buildings. This is a disgrace having mental health individuals living in the same space. Mental heath needs it's own residential dwellings with supportive help.
So the mayor states that this project has worked "somewhat " in other cities. What exactly does somewhat mean? Also he says that "it is better than having random encampments all over the city." So is he saying there will not be allowed any other encampment, tents etc. anywhere else in the city?
Well said Mr. DiMatteo. Hopefully the councilors and city admin will hear your words! The Wilson Street playground space which isn't used because of needles, empty bottles etc could be transformed into housing units.
Should be one school board. Money wasted on multiple boards also shouldn't have got rid of smaller community schools where students live within walking distance.
People who are addicted or who have mental health issues need supportive housing. Not encampments. They do not belong in low income senior geared apartments. Our seniors deserve to spend their years feeling safe and secure.
Commercial vehicles should be traveling on the Trans Canada Highway. 11-17. Maybe then the Provincial government, who is responsible for this highway, will upgrade and improve traffic flow. Isn't that why the bypass was created?
Cancelling busses and raising the rates yet we have a $70,000 cargo van to service the homeless. I understand human rights, but what about taxpayers rights.
Thank you Vince and nephew! This organization is doing some really important work with young adults with autism. They need our community help whether it's volunteering, donating or financial assistance to continue supporting these youth as there arent alot of options out there once they graduate from high school
