Instead of banning all trucks off Dawson 102 put weight restrictions in place. Or send more deliveries by train. Less transports. But I'm sure the trucking industry wouldn't agree
Seniors should have their own secure low income buildings. This is a disgrace having mental health individuals living in the same space. Mental heath needs it's own residential dwellings with supportive help.
So the mayor states that this project has worked "somewhat " in other cities. What exactly does somewhat mean? Also he says that "it is better than having random encampments all over the city." So is he saying there will not be allowed any other encampment, tents etc. anywhere else in the city?
Should be one school board. Money wasted on multiple boards also shouldn't have got rid of smaller community schools where students live within walking distance.
Well said Mr. DiMatteo. Hopefully the councilors and city admin will hear your words! The Wilson Street playground space which isn't used because of needles, empty bottles etc could be transformed into housing units.
Commercial vehicles should be traveling on the Trans Canada Highway. 11-17. Maybe then the Provincial government, who is responsible for this highway, will upgrade and improve traffic flow. Isn't that why the bypass was created?
Thank you Vince and nephew! This organization is doing some really important work with young adults with autism. They need our community help whether it's volunteering, donating or financial assistance to continue supporting these youth as there arent alot of options out there once they graduate from high school
Alot of possibilities for this area. A mix of low to middle income housing, keeping the greenspace and recreational trails are a must. Community gardens is an excellent idea. We dont need homeless shelters. We need treatment facilities for addictions and mental health supportive housing. Alpha Court is one organization that is doing great work
What if they dont register? I know of an apartment building that recently took 2 units and converted them into short term rentals. There goes 2 less apartments for our housing shortage
How and why weren't these surrounding area businesses not have been informed prior to this decision. These businesses pay alot of taxes to the city. They also give to charities through monetary and volunteering opportunities. To have "blindsided" them is in very poor taste. Council and administration should be ashamed how they are conducting themselves without regard for consultation between business, service agencies and the community.
