Many homeowners are already struggling to make ends meet and the increasing costs to operate a home or pay rent make it very difficult for those on fixed and low incomes.

It would appear that Mark Carneau would be the better leader and many Canadians are willing to give him the chance.

How many of these homeless are visitors and not Thundet Bay residents? Cheaper than a $200 dollar a night hotel room.

It is aligned with the city's growth goals? Re imagine Victotiaville? $18 million dollars down the drain.

Where's the plebiscite and the million dollars from Soccer Northwest?

So let's pour $50 million dollars into building a tax supported indooor turf facility that taxpayers couldn't vote on.

And you wonder why our taxes are so high. And a year wasted discussing the size of council and then doing nothing. No wonder this city is in such a mess.

Taking down the mall is good. Opening up Victoria Ave. Is good. Wasting millions more with patios and other nonsense is complete nonsense.

Council swallowed the hook line and sinker when Michael Venezaile president of soccer Northwest told council the facility could be built for under $20 million dollars and that he was going to raise $1 million dollars towards the cost. Now taxpayers are looking at over $52 million when approximately $10 million of interest on a $19 million dollar loan is included in the cost..Is it any wonder the city's debt is over $200 million dollars and the shortfall on maintaining existing infrastructure is over $30 million dollars each year. This irresponsible spending by council is the very reason the City of Thunder Bay has the highest taxes in Northern Ontario and the second highest in the entire province.Where's the plebiscite and what excuse does Michael Venezaille use now to avoid his promise to raise $1 million dollars?

Glad administration and council did not allow this mall location for a public library.

The city has spent over 4 years pursuing an unaffordable $ 55 million dollar indoor soccer facility. This is the city's priority.

The city's high taxes will only put more seniors and others out into the streets.

What kind of stability will this bring to the downtown south core? May and Miles Street is located within a block or two of four bars and two canabis stores.

That indoor turf fund came from taxpayers like me and should not be wasted on an over priced Facility that should be built by the private sector .Provincial or municipal dollars this is still our money. Despite all this the city is also taking out a $ 15 million dollar debenture that will add to the city's total debt of over 190 million dollars.

What the mayor failed to mention was the city's total debt of over 200,000 million and the $15 million dollars needed annually to service this debt. He also did not mention the city's high taxes and tax rates. (second highest in the entire province) Nor did he mention the city's inability to control spending and staffing levels. Finally he did not mention the fact that the public has no say on major expenditures like the $57 million dollar indoor turf facility. There should have been a plebiscite.

This area is a mess. Total disaster. Don' t bring your car anywhere near there. There is no parking now as a result of making this area anything but a road.
