Go buy your own land then? These are my two neighbours that revoked their permission. I share 1/4 mile of the trail that trail with one of the two neighbours. What caused them to revoke their permission? Disrespect for THEIR land. People leaving beer bottles, trash, etc. The club would not offer assistance off-season to help clean up. People running their sleds with extra loud muffler cans and speeding. Off-season people figure it's their right to also go ATVing and camping in their bush. Sadly, 10% of the people wreck it for the majority. I am an avid sledder and find today's sledders' attitudes and sense of entitlement abhorrent. Do you want the trail open? Approach the owners and offer your help to clean up off-season. Educate your fellow members to clean up after yourselves and respect the landowners, slow down near homes.... without us you have nothing.
"...Sorry for the mean, awful, accurate things I said..."Consultants can be beneficial however their recommendations must be scrutinized and not rubber stamped. It has been said "...If you are not part of the solution, there's plenty of money to be made by prolonging the problem..."
It's time for Canada to grow a set again. We need a Leader who will work with the USA but stand up for Canada, not a soft push-over socialist who watches our economy crumble to China and India. We need to bring back our own manufacturing - we need to make most of our own goods and become less reliant on other countries. We need to trade "dollar-for-dollar" and not sell $1 of goods for every $10 we import from places like China.
US liquor is sold on consignment. The LCBO doesn't pay for it until it's sold in the store, no different than cars sold at a dealership. The amount on consignment depends on your sales performance, the more you can sell, they more they give you up front.
Bingo. People like you are part of the problem. You figure you can do whatever you want and it’s the property owners fault. Loud can serve zero purpose on a speed regulated trail, the trails are not for drag races.
Not all taxpayers use the hockey rinks, soccer domes, Hub trails, City parks, splash pads, boardwalks, City water & sewer system, City roads, libraries, museums, art galleries, etc. By your logic, we would have no amenities or culture for anyone. The YMCA offers services to the general public as well (not just members)....
@ Icemanbi Tell us you don't understand politics without telling us you don't understand politics. Covid restrictions were federally (Liberal) mandated, Ford had no choice in the matter.
Ahhh Another bitter person who doesn't work in a unionized environment where employers can't take advantage of paying peanuts to their employees and forgo pensions.... Instead, you want the rest of us taxpayers to pay for your pension because your employer was too busy pocketing all the profits for their shareholders. It is time that all companies pay fair wages, health benefits, and wages for their employees regardless if they are just "glorified cashiers".
That stretch of contaminated land has remained vacant since the mid-1990s not adding to the city's bottom line of assessed tax base. Here you have a proven developer who has purchased the property with shovel-ready plans to turn it into new attractions and shops that will help draw people to the area, create jobs, and add tax dollars into the City coffers.... and you have an issue with that? Do you really think that we will attract a Toronto developer and get a few dollars more? (wait.... we already entertained a couple and their plans fell through).
You do realize that it is the FEDERAL government that hands out funding for healthcare to the provinces right? You can thank your LIBERAL buddy TRUDEAU.... More concerned about carbon taxing than healthcare.
I’ve been saying that for years! There’s no need for that roadway…. It would be nicer to walk off the boardwalk, sit on a patio at a restaurant and enjoy.
Back in our day, we had a Teacher with a ruler who would wack you across the knuckles if you did not follow the classroom rules... It was very effective and people grew up to respect authority with manners. Now the kid tells the teacher where to go and society sides with the kid.
The women are/were clothed and were consenting adults. They got paid (financial compensation) for the photo shoot, and for some, this added to their professional portfolio to launch their careers. They signed a contract that gives the paper copyright to the pictures in perpetuity. Once again, the woke are crying foul. With all the bigger issues in the world today, this is what the media chooses to focus on.
Nobody owes you a subsidized house, many of us worked to afford ours and made the necessary sacrifices like working multiple jobs. If you can't afford one, move to an area within your means.
This Mayor is nuts. This is not Toronto, which has big city parking problems. I thought the idea was to encourage shopping and business downtown. Go ahead, charge for parking, I won't even go downtown to deal with parking on top of the other issues of crackheads and homeless vagrants. His idealistic vision of everyone riding bicycles into the downtown instead of cars is not a reality for a Northern Community whose population is spread out over 20km.
