Although I can empathize with Caputo’s family tragedy, her going on about that accident has nothing to do with looking at increasing the speed on the divided part of the highway between the Sault and Thessalon. She needs to focus on the subject at hand not her personal agendas.

Another con artist is going to be laughing all the way to the bank with OUR tax dollars.

Who wants to leave their bikes in any public space downtown? Not to mention most don’t even ride their bikes for a good part of the year here. Why does this council constantly try to shove square pegs in round holes? The delusion is strong with this council and staff. C’mon.

What is it going to take for the city to reinstate the lights?! A dead kid walking in the area? People can say “ learn to drive” blah, blah, blah….but what about the person who was in the right? The pedestrian whose life may be in danger because of distracted people? Enough. I hope the city gets sued. Enough with these ridiculous trials. Perri, Rumiel, Hamilton-Beach or whomever keeps implementing these disasters needs to find a new job.

Stayclassy, roundabouts are meant to keep traffic flowing…..stopping constantly for people crossing defeats the whole point. I have driven many roundabouts, this is not the spot for one.

Although I agree that something needs to be done with that intersection, the amount of kids crossing there to go to circle k or the pizza place makes this a very dangerous idea. That would be a disaster waiting to happen.

Time to start listening to the people who live in the area and travel it daily!

I would not vote for someone from S. Ontario to be the voice of our community, nor would I put my trust in any word spoken by Mr. Naccarato.

Start up costs around $386k?! Ridiculous. These councillors need to attend some sort of class to teach them about fiscal responsibility. They seem to forget that all this money isn’t falling from the sky. They need to get their heads out of la la land.

Accountability. You are supposed represent yourselves (and your city) in a way that shows pride and respect for both yourself and the place in which you are visiting. There is no excuse for poor behaviour and sometimes the only way to learn the lesson is to pay the price of your actions. Sad on so many levels. Do better.

Firstly, having an unlocked sheltered area will become another spot for nefarious activities when the units aren’t being used. Secondly, couldn’t a local fabrication company be used to make these ridiculously expensive units? At least the money would stay in our community. Thirdly, thieves are cutting locks on secured bicycles already. How about we deal with the issues downtown. A fancy, expensive tin box isn’t going to deter criminals. Pie in the sky mentality strikes again.

The way this country treats our elderly is appalling. This should have been fixed immediately. Unacceptable to the endth degree.

Why should people have to clean up your trash? Show some respect.

How on earth have kids survived up until now? It’s not like they’re playing in the middle of Great Northern Rd. My neighbours have their net on the edge of their property at the road and it doesnt obscure traffic one iota. The bus drops off and picks up their kids without any issue. How a basketball net interferes with a bus dropping off and picking up kids makes no sense to me.

You’ll change your tune when you are the one driving properly and get nailed by someone who isn’t. When someone plows into a pedestrian because they aren’t paying attention, you aren’t going to be so smug. I dare you to tell the victims of these accidents to get over it. That is what is ignorant.

@froman……they advertised on their website “flat rate-unlimited service” up until yesterday so many made the choice to hire based on this advertising. They also tried to charge extra based on their own numbers, which to me is a huge conflict of interest, after the contract stating that Environment Canada was the standard. Shady….

Her children are not young. Far past the age of needing babysitters. Unless there is an absolute emergency at home, she should not be tending to home issues while in important meetings.

Boy, this council would have been crying in their cornflakes had they been around when Frank Manzo was on council. He was a straight shooter and he did what he was supposed to. He WAS THE VOICE OF THE PEOPLE. This council forgets that they were voted in by the citizens of this city to do a job, not to run a regime. I support Kinach 100%. We need more councillors like him.

So they say don’t go to a walk in clinic because the doctor gets penalized monetarily, but when a patient tries to get an appointment somewhere within the GHC, they jump through all the hoops and are still unable to see anyone there. They are directed to go to emerg instead of another walk in clinic because that way the GHC doctor won’t get penalized monetarily. Emerg shouldn’t be treated as GHC’s walk in. It overwhelms the emerg dept because typical walk in patients shouldn’t really be there. GHC needs to come up with a better plan. They say they have all these options, but when it is time to put the pedal to the metal, you get no where.
