Here is a man who absent mindedly charged a golf membership worth at least $2,000 to taxpayers and doesn't think he did anything wrong since he agreed to repay it back after being exposed. Probably paid back out of the $250 grand NDA he got from the city for the Memorial Gardens fiasco. What a piece of work this guy is.

So on June 26 credit card story broke. The mayor held a press conference indicating that he had repaid the questionable charges back, he had done nothing wrong and he was not resigning. Then a week later on July 4, in spite of being completely innocent, he surrenders the card to the CAO and nothing is said about that until today? No indication from the CAO or the communications officer! Sounds reasonable to me. Peter, it's not the credit card that needs to be submitted, its you resignation.

This is absolutely true. Conferences of any kind are primarily beneficial to the organizers and the hospitality industry and a little paid holiday for employees. Reimbursement should be limited to 50%.

The raison d'etre for unions disappeared decades ago. The union leadership has to be seen to be doing something to warrant the millions in dues they collect. The intent of the expense policy was evident as it was. This ill advised attempt will only serve to suggest that it was inadequate and that grown individuals would be confused as to what was an allowable reimbursement and what was not. The CFO even recommended in 2024 that Chirico turn in his credit card and he did not and no one on staff or council alerted the public about it. Posting these expenses is simply a make work project that hides the real issues we have here regarding sky high taxes and ineffective spending.
