Swim team coach stunned by lack of police response to Prince George Aquatic Centre incident

The various police forces would be the first to agree that the justice system is broken in this Country yet as an organization they lack the emotional intelligence to see that they are a major part of problem. I bet if a citizens arrest was made in this case there would be 4 or 5 cars down at the pool in a matter of minutes and the person (s) making the arrest would been handcuffed and detained.

I have to agree with the swim coach that policing in this city, Province and Country are something that should concern us all. Read anything about the recent Zameer trial in Toronto if you want to see firsthand police, municipal and Provincial corruption in regards to our broken justice system.

What the city planners and other genius's don't seem to get is that the vast majority of people that live and work in Prince George don't live downtown. For example in College Heights with close to 20,000 people there are zero federal facilities, one government liquor store and one municipal fire hall for a total of all government facilities. The people in College Heights pay some of the highest taxes in B.C. for home values yet have very little to show for it other than a 40 year moan about vitalizing the downtown core. Prince George deserves so much better.

I have lived in the Charella, Starlane area (North of Highway 16) for over 10 years and noticed the following: Hundreds of new houses every year being built, some of the highest taxes in BC for the value of the homes, and very little infrastructure being built during that time. There are no stores, no schools, no government services and only a handful of businesses in our busy area. Tyner to UNBC should have been twinned ten years ago. I have no confidence that the City planners and City leadership are willing to spend any money on areas outside of the downtown money pit.

Hmmm, 15 pages of convictions and over 45 for breaches or failing to comply with court orders and the man got a full 7 month sentence. I would think that something in the range of 10 to 20 years would be more appropriate. If the man commits more crimes when he gets out in 7 months, which is likely that he will, this judge should be removed for incompetence.
