Mark you are correct when you point out that Mr. Herman was there during very troubled and trying times. But his letter isn't saying that everything is good enough. As I read it, he is urging us to give Chief Fleury and TBPS time to do their jobs and to implement the recommendations of previous reviews. This would all happen sooner if NAN leadership tried to be part of the solution and kept politics out of it.
Are there no professors at Lakehead that can teach these students how complex the balance has to be regarding Canada's global position in the production of fossil fuels and how it contributes to our economy? Are they not aware of how far we have fallen in national debt?
I'm not a Liberal or a fan of Patty by any stretch but am glad that Carney kept cabinet positions to a minimum. This is just a short term place holder so no need to get too excited one way or the other.
It's great that Patty was able to take this all expenses paid jaunt in her last months before losing her ministerial job. I'm happy that she was able to learn some things along the way about their Indigenous peoples. But in the big scheme of things did Canada or her riding benefit?
They were on a first name basis. Cops spend 95% of their time dealing with the same 5% of the population. What's that tell you about the "correctional system"?
I believe it was meant solely to promote the Liberal party and to stop its dismal spiral towards 3rd party status. Once again, Trudeau has miscalculated the voters of Canada.
Absolutely correct! Every single time the TBPS is in potential hot water or subject to pubic scrutiny, the names are made public even before being found guilty and regardless of any unnecessary embarrassment to the individual officer. All comments are allowed without any concern for our police members. Who was responsible for the situation? No names!!! Shame on TBnewswatch.com - it's time you start standing behind TBPS. Our police service is facing an uphill battle everyday trying to gain trust among the community and you are throwing up roadblocks every chance you get.
Your view that there is only a fine line between police and criminals is astonishing to me. You must have such jaded and lifelong background experiences to have such a lack of trust and to not recognize and/or understand the effort it takes to become a police officer. In addition to attending and passing Ontario Police College, most officers if not all, were hired with previous college or university degrees and have taken countless specialized training sessions ever since. They go to work daily not knowing what they will encounter, face the worst kind of life situations constantly all the while being recorded, and are expected to perform like perfect experts 100% of the time. We should be forever thankful that they are here.
Anybody that continues to support this corrupt government is the embarrassment. This trip is just another wasteful example so typical of the awful Liberal policies and procedure. To spend taxpayer money at this "lame duck" time, is pure folly and not productive in the least.
So Johnathan, you are going to blindly continue voting Liberal after this 9 year fiasco? If you really want both sides of the story, you should watch the Jordan Peterson - P Poilievre interview in its entirety, and listen with an open mind. Search it out. He speaks to many more topics that the carbon tax.
I'm super glad to hear the results of this investigation. Thank you for you service! How would anybody like to have a job that puts you in this position, having to arrest a known violent offender (that may be armed), and is resisting arrest? Then to top it off, you get investigated because the poor loser got hurt in the confrontation, We don't pay these guys enough!
I'm not so sure that the golfer would be found legally responsible or liable for damages in court unless he was observed intentionally trying to hit a ball at the victim. It was simply an unfortunate accident.
Alice I am having trouble getting through your double negatives to understand with certainty what you are trying to say. Perhaps you could rephrase it and offer up: "imaging where the Liberals might be without Trudeau".
16 months will go by in a blink of the eye. A longer term mandate, coinciding with Trump's term will be much more helpful to Ontario residents, especially if your thinking is on the same page as Doug Ford. And the election results will answer whether the voter's thinking does.
