Opik, the majority of Canadians would agree with you, but, last time I looked, too many Canadians are going goo goo for this insufferable, nauseating, self righteous mark carney. And carney will carry on with justin trudeau’s no more pipeline disaster that will continue to cripple this once proud country. carney, who’s more concerned about giving the left wing CBC an additional $150 million tax dollars, on top of the $1.4 Billion the CBC already gets. I just don’t get how Canadians get kicked in the groin for 10 years & now, want more of the same from this part time Canadian with 3 passports who spent the last 10 years living in another country. As a pretty avid bicyclist, I am in agreement with the Ford government on this one. The amount of time, effort & cost to paint these bike lanes is ridiculous. They don’t make it past 1 of our winters. But maybe more important, the congestion it is creating on our streets for vehicle traffic is frustrating & unacceptable. There’s plenty of places to bike, top of which is our fantastic Hub Trail. And with the branches that are being created off the Hub Trail, there are going to be plenty of options for bicyclists in this city. Just my opinion.

What Councillor Kinach said pales in comparison to what was said and accepted in my 12 years on council. The mayor, cao, city council and city staff work for we the taxpayers of Sault Ste. Marie !!! In my opinion and I’m pretty sure in the minds of many Saultites, Councillor Kinach did not cross the line. Councillor Kinach, unlike a number of the rest of the council, is genuinely working on behalf and in the best interests of the taxpayers !!!!! I hope others speak up and let this council know how they feel about this. Please continue the good work Councillor Kinach.

It’s very unfortunate Greg that you’re getting very little feedback from Soo Mich businesses & public officials. It would serve them well to be more open. While on council a few years ago, I asked a bridge official what was the % of bridge crossers. He told me it was about 80-20, about 80% Canadians crossing south. That was very concerning to me as a neighbour & as a Canadian. I have yet to cross over since the orange guy trump began his ruthless & senseless attack on Canada. Unfortunately Canada is a leaderless & very vulnerable nation & that should make every Canadians very angry because that’s totally the fault of this current lieberal govt. Thank God trudeau is gone but I don’t think carney is any better. Good luck to us all as we tread thru these mine fields of total chaos & economic calamity.

All that economic development, good paying jobs & those industrial property taxes that would ease the burden on our residential property taxes are not to be. But this city council has more dire concerns like bike lanes, more endless tax dollars for our downtown. And what’s this I hear, a new position for a liaison officer between city hall and our indigenous neighbours ?? Folks, we’ve got sub par leadership at city hall and it’s on full display. Good luck to all of us as the new assessments will be rolling out sometime soon & many homeowners will see a sizeable jump in their property values & thus, many will see a property tax increases. These people are not placed on city council to NOT have a healthy, intelligent discussion on an issue that comes to council. Sure, there’s pros & cons to the motion. But at least, have that discussion. What this council did is called putting your head in the sand & simply wait til the motion is withdrawn & it goes away. Very sad. Why not take the high road & simply do your job !!!!!
