I was at Riverside Park Cambridge last weekend during Ribfest and they didn't have parking attendants but they didn't close the parking to all other park users either and it still worked some how... I hope Guelph still gets the turnout they hope for Ribfest got to expensive for me many years ago

4 days to do a top layer of pavement is utterly ridiculous.it should take hour not days... ok maybe a day 2 tops the company they have doing it seems severely incompetent

It's good they get to keep the money without having to put on a show that's good deal

As someone else has said convenience stores already sell age restricted products this won't be much different. As the stats show drinking is on the decline for youths so I have no problem with adding booze to a conscience store most provinces do it already and they aren't broken because of it. What bothers me is that we are getting this at a great cost when the real problems the province has aren't being addressed

No parking is fine, lots of places that exist already in the downtown have little or no parking although they are usually poorly maintained and above a bar or something. The height and location would not fit into downtowns aesthetic but who cares about that. The question would be who's going to be able to afford living in them? It's not like theres alot of high income jobs located downtown Guelph. Sounds like this is mainly for housing students from the newly located college or university .

It wouldn't be Sumner in Ontario without a LCBO strike

Paying much more and getting less seems to be a trend Canada has adopted long ago and unfortunately doesn't seem to be going away any time soon especially in Guelph

I understand that some of the trails needed to be closed but they closed some walkways that have been around for 30 years or more how did they suddenly become a threat?

What happens to the people currently living on the site ? They become homeless in the interim? Same with the people from the co op that's going in further up the street where do those people go?

I'm glad this space is finally getting used and homes is the right use for it but this set up looks like it's gonna be a traffic nightmare and kinda visually gross but that doesn't really matter to me now that I live faraway and almost never frequent that area. Glad something is finally happening.

I would say add the lights as well as a pedestrian crossing at the trailhead further up,change the speed limit to 30 at that stretch and 40 as you go up the hill make it pedestrian only on weekends and that should fix the problem. Maybe not the pedestrian only thing that might be too controversial but the other stuff is a must

When I was younger and went to bars I would DD for my friends it was free ride for them and I got to hang out with my friends and make sure they got home safe in this new 24 hour pay system I wouldn't be doing that. Pay or free it makes no difference to me but I can definitely see people pulling away from downtown when even a " free" ice sake or cool down at the splash pad at City Hall isn't necessarily free if there's no on street parking not to mention dinner in the core now comes with a parking premium especially for those popular patios in the summer.
It will be interesting to see if a lawsuit is filed at the new rec center being built as it seems to be par for the course when it comes to city projects. I wonder if they just add a few million to the project budgets for what seems to be the inevitable lawsuits .
