Suitors line up with offers for Orillia's Champlain Monument

Interesting that the Wendats from Quebec came to Orillia & declared that the Champlain Monument that had graced our Couchiching Park for 60 years had to be removed. Now Quebec is saying let us have this beautiful bronze sculpture if Orillia does not want it. The majority of Orillia citizens truly desire to see our Champlain Monument back in our Park. It is very sad that Champlain has been removed yet again. Please let us all admire this beautiful bronze work of art and the history it provides. No good comes from hiding him away.
