They didn't vote against the pipeline. They voted against the motion the conservatives put together. People fail to understand the red tape of the pipeline. You can't just go through reservations the treaty says so. They need to work with many bands from all the reservations to be able to go through and many will not allow it to go through their land. Also conservation land is protected by the treaty although they have had many deals passed for mining or logging in the past. But before any process can happen they need to make a deal with each reserve it crosses that will cost billions in itself.

I'd like are city to stop spending money on things used 5 months a year and focus on things that are a problem 365 days a year. Or instead of spending give a tax break incentive for companies to open here and create jobs.

This is great for Algoma and should have been done well we still made steel out of iron. But we will build off what make now. Wish they ran eaf and blast furnace at same time higher production faster projects in the government's future. Algoma can be the future of Canadian steel and the future plan of Canada if cards are played right and expansion of market happens. More than ever Canada needs to build army related vehicles and Algoma can do this switch courses of plate and strip work with the government and jobs will be flying in.

Hotels, restaurants, bars, liquor sales, car rentals, merchandise sales, fights all get taxed and will see a significant increase in sales during this time also add in tv airing and high commercial costs.

I witnessed this entire thing they showed up it was buried and they had no shovels. They asked the people whose house I was at if they could borrow a shovel to dig it out. I think one thing that could also be a good idea is always having shovels and pick axes readily available as this winter it's not just the snow from blowing it are accumulation of snow is greater than the height of fire hydrants. But I will say the firefighters on seen worked their buts off getting it unburied and hooked up as fast as possible and working all throughout that morning and next day. Respect to our emergency services.

I like to know how you figure the public is paying for it although it is a reduced price to most daycares it still has a cost associated with it like all other daycares at schools.

Be nice if one day our city, province and federal government would realize with inflation everywhere it's not just what they call low income houses struggling anymore. Middle class is also struggling. Time to start calling 60k a year low income for families when groceries cost over a $1000 a month and housing cost $2000 a month for a family of 4. Puc in winter cost me $800 a month. I pay 15,000 a year in taxes to be broke all the time living pay cheque to pay cheque and someone who never paid taxes is getting money handed left and right to help them. It's time our government realizes middle class is suffering just as much as lower class.
You think in the many years of studies for safety they didn't come to the conclusion that seat belts aren't safer. For many reasons in evacuation situations they have proven the seat belt to be a cause of life lost over no seatbelts . In collision situations they have shown low injuries to children when no seatbelts are worn. These aren't just some political decision it's world wide studied facts.
