I'm in no way a business owner downtown but see the vacancies and problems down there as everyone else does. Common sense says these building owners and businesses are mentally and financially stressed enough. It's up to the RCMP to step up and do their jobs properly. If you think two rent a cops at $400000 is the solution you're wrong. If you think stressing these owners anymore is the answer you are also wrong.
Northern Health has coordinators for coordinators. Way more Chiefs than Indians. If this were a company it would be classed as top heavy and unviable. Let's get back to patient care instead of dead weight.
We dealt with her personally on a couple bylaw issues and she was very rude and off point. She also was not at all in sync with her officers. I'm totally not surprised that she was let go. A great move for the citizens of this city.
Everyone in the city is affected by this government disaster. The downtown core more so than the rest. Why build a bushcamp next to businesses and not in the bush. Let them burn a hundred miles from nowhere. Why is the closed youth jail not full of these want to be homeless addicts? Why does our mayor visit moccasin flats and not the businesses paying taxes and trying to stay alive? This people is a government created problem from the bottom to the top. The government is supposed to be for the people.
Non Green Hydrogen is a farce. Take fuel/electricity to make it plus the process. You don't get energy out of nothing. Politics instead of reality. The EV wave is slowly dying also as people dummy up.
How can you blame people with these buildings down town? This includes the mayor's. They are taxed to death for properties that have lost business because of the downtown filth. Lots have become non feasible. You fix em you're taxed more. Make em look nice for??? There is going to be no short term fix as long as you got every second place from the hood to first ave as a place to live free or for a handout. Drugs accepted
Kick foothills through and put a small park beside it at Ginters. That 90deg turned into a waste of money round-a-bout is a joke. Decrease traffic on Ospika for safety and better traffic flow. You can add a path beside it like along the university doubling the use of this space.
I said it previously the RCMP have not been doing their job in the city. The businesses and citizens pay the RCMP's wages and are not getting the help they need.
Good, bad, or ugly this should have been put in. I'm not on the climate change band wagon at all but this is a mistake. Who gives up any funding that could be used in the community. This also would help make us look better on the world stage and open other opertunities. How do you grow if you stay in your little bubble?
I'm on board with a Northern Health idea. Who are in all those cubicles? The HSBC building has 7 floors of??? What is that costing? What is the patient to manager ratio? What is the manager to nurse or doctor ratio? Maybe get a few of them sweeping the sidewalks and streets. To many Baydays and not enough patient care.
Why not use the $400000 grant money to lower the city taxes on businesses effected by this? Why not talk about slashing internal spending? How much are these people doing these useless reports making? What city management can be cut that are involved with this?
What would they do if they actually got a real snow season? The last two winters have seen been very little snow compared to most. Does this department need a new manager? Is the budget non realistic?
All this while the city's long term community plan has property developers thinking to sue them? One other issue is Prince George's high taxes. Hard to build when taxes are high and you don't know what way the wind is blowing.
And four departments and 25 firefighters saved what??? If they would of left it alone there would of been probably one less dumptruck load of debris to dispose of.
