Sadly there is little to deter criminals since bill C-75 was passed (by the liberals). Criminals will be out on bail the same week. Seems little can be done other than to take matters into your own hands. Federal laws need to change but Liberals don't want that, they don't want us safe. They just struck down the 3 strike bill. Look after yourselves, since the government won't.

What? I'm confused, you're removing them because some people find them too hard? How is this any different than the horrible, bumpy, pot hole filled roads we have that haven't been improved since last year? There's also gradual ones, not the plastic ones with a hard lip.

Posting again. This has nothing to do with safety. It's money making system for the city. This solution does not stop speeding, like you can see. It's mainly for generating money. If your want safer roads, install something like speed bumps. But once the city tastes money, goodluck.

This has nothing to do with safety because it doesn't stop speeding. Case and point, you may not see the camera and drive by as usual. This happened to myself and my coworkers in Fergus where they put one up by JD Hogarth. If you want to slow people down do something that forces you to slow down (ex. speed bumps). This is only a thing because it MAKES THE CITY money.

Very true. Makes you wonder why we pay taxes when this stuff goes unattended.

We rent them like the 407... no wonder our taxes are so high.

What are you doing with our tax dollars?! So many roads are horrible like on Speedvale. We don't have fiber in our subdivision (explain that). The current party is a joke.

I'm surprised the charged anyone. I nearly lost my life few years ago when my car got hit head on and split in half. NOTHING came of it. Hopefully more bad drivers are held accountable.

Not surprised, Guelph can't even maintain it's roads. Considering how insane our property taxes are I'm wondering where the heck out money is going.

Seems rare these days for people to actually get punished.

How about making our property tax reasonsable so people can afford homes? How about rental apt buildings charging what we're paying for our mortgage but for a 3 bedroom apt? Why don't we build north of here instead, it's already a crowded town and driving across it takes a long time. Look at wht happened to Newmarket, become and awful place to live if after it outgrew itself and they did that transit fiasco on Young street wcreating more traffic.

Good to know. I hope they make the road better, becasue it's pretty bad. Not sure where our tax dollars are going, property tax is through the roof, and land transfer tax (why is this even a thing for exisitng homes?) so what's the excuse for our 3rd world quality roads in town?

A lot of down votes for people saying they don't want to use public transport? That reflects the sad state of our country. This seems ridiculous. People will park at nearby businesses then, and goodluck with that. Some people have had enough of public transport. Ride a bike? How does that work if you live in another city.

Nice! He's a pretty cool dude with some fun backstories. I might check it out. Not sure why people here are down voting positive comments. Yet they're never this critical of actual important issues.

We're not really building houses anyways for whatever reason. Hope that changes soon. Not sure this would help based on how things are going. These can't be $700k+ homes either that most poeple can't afford.

It's true we are living in the movie Idiocracy because of folks like yourself.
Why are some comments not appearing on here?

Why not use speed bumps instead? That actually slows down taffic. The speed camera is a punishment, but not a preventative measure, peopl can ignore them (on purpose or by accident). So if safety is top of mind, this camera approach doesn't make much sense.

I wish it gave details of how it weakens it with specifics in the article.
Don't have to, the semi trucks do that evrytime they drive by the school and kids are in the yard. Get's pretty annoing throughout the day when I'm working from home.
