Is this house in the Sault really selling for a buck?

Unless they are moving to the Sault, Toronto should not be allowed to purchase homes here

"It was never an eyesore and should have just been renovated instead of being torn down. This city is too quick to just demolish.

Just more places for the homeless to congregate, this is a Hard No from me and NEVER would have voted for this if given the opportunity.

So, my question is this...... What about all the events that are held downtown, moonlight madness/tree lighting, rotary fest, Bon Soo etc. How many people will not attend because parking was difficult and now will be even more so, I am not walking all the way to the machine shop to attend Bon Soo and will only take public transit if it is free to get there. Why did the city spend 58,000 dollars on an out-of-town consultant who knows nothing of our city. Waste of moneyI WILL NOT vote any of this council back in and that includes our mayor.

Santa Claus parade has been on the same weekend for years; Greyhounds could have planned better.

These traffic calming measures are getting ridiculous, the streets are getting narrower to accommodate the bikes that i don't see many of and making moving around this city difficult and time consuming. What is normally a 10 min trip at the lawful speeds is now 20 min trip because of the traffic being bottlenecked. We need a new city council folks.

A Parking garage should have been built when they redid the gardens. Be it underground or above. Parking downtown is a big issue and one of many reasons I don't shop downtown and don't shop the mall on Greyhound nights.

Don't want to start a debate just have a few questions and maybe things to think about, to start with, Ford will not get my vote, no matter his 200$ bribe, so why does it seem like we have two choices...Liberal or Conservative. There are other parties to vote for, is it past history from past candidates that are making those decisions? Everyone wants change but honestly, is there really a change when it is always going to be Liberal or Conservative? Thats not really change that's a seesaw. I honestly think there should be a non-confidence vote on the ballet. A none of the above as I don't really like any of them. Please people try to make an educated vote and not just vote for the party our parents vote for.

@spazz, read the article, its states the sidewalks will be closed and for pedestrians to find an alternate route

This city never thinks of parking. I go to Westminster and the parking there is almost already nonexistent thru the week. Now they have made it worse. There are things that go on in a church thru the week not just services on Sundays. If the building can be used, why did they need a new one?? " the proposed buyer reportedly ready to build an important new primary health care facility somewhere else if Sault Ste. Marie couldn't get its act together on the parking issue."This sounds like blackmail, was there and is there no place else in Sault Ste Marie that you can "BUILD" this important new Health Care Facility. You're not building you are moving into an old building that apparently wasn't good enough and a new one had to be built.I also question if they will pay taxes, or they will be exempt. All of the issues should have been clearly discussed before the vote. This city council should be ashamed I know I am.

Might be a good time to start a new ferry service to the island

This city is messed up. I will not attend on the simple fact that Sault Ste Marie is MORE THAN a hockey town and not everyone likes hockey.
LIVE: December 2 City Council

this city makes me very sad, you are so out of touch
A ball drop is a great idea, but not a hockey puck. I know people voted and the puck won, but if you look at the numbers it wasn't by very much. Not everyone in the Sault loves or even likes hockey. I am sure if people didn't want a ball, there could have been other ideas presented besides just a puck or a ball. The city logo itself could have been an option. I won't go as I don't agree with the puck idea, but I hope all who do go have a really great time and enjoy themselves.
