Quiet skies on Canada Day with fireworks ban in effect for Prince George

I've lived in p.g for all of my 72 years and have never seen a fire started from a fireworks display. And they were always a staple of any big holiday or fair. They were set off in a lot drier weather than we have this year.

Makes me wonder how secure and airtight mayor Yu,s property is

That fire looks perilously close to those new trailers .

One in and one out. Accommodations for vagrants in the form of Atco trailers in and one of George Streets flagship businesses out.

So mayor yu thinks other town halls should be held. Perhaps he would even grace us with his attendance. In my opinion there were 200 to many that showed up for this useless exercise.

Hands up to anyone who remembers the last fire related to a fireworks display

Now hands up to anyone who can remember the last fire related to downtown vagrants. Good thing the city is on top of the dangers of fire to our fair city

Do we really need a three million dollar playground. A toilet valued at the same price as the spruce king lottery house. And can someone please go to a school and take a crash course on how to put on an assembly for under twenty five thousand dollars

Cities like L.A and New York run three and four major league teams out of one arena plus circuses concerts etc. We have a 6000 seat arena for 80 000. Figure it out.

As far as I'm concerned with downtown, the juice isn't worth the squeeze. I live quite comfortably and never set foot there. Nothing will change there so it is up to each one to decide if putting up with conditions as they are is worth the experience of going there. There is a saying that if you build it they will come. The opposite can also be true. If you destroy it they won't come. I just don't see the sense in going to a place that I can do without and then complaining about it.

Makes you wonder where charitable donations really end up

Bill Poser...do the homeless own those shopping carts. There seems to be a lot bulkier merchandise stored down at moccasin flats..wonder who transported it There.

Find the money somewhere else. This is a winter town. It is one of the things the city does well. Leave it alone

I just returned from a baseball tournament held McArthur Island Park. You can Google it. The place is a fabulous example of what a multi use out door sports facility can be. It is obvious that something like this only exists as a result of years of competent planning and political will. This is something that has been woefully lacking at p.g city hall for decades. This facility is beautifully maintained by city staff not turned over to well meaning weekend volunteers. The tournament held there involved many divisions and drew thousands of people all staying in kamloops hotels. Eating in kamloops restaurants. Buying kamloops gas and shopping in kamloops malls. When you see what other communities have developed over the years it makes one realize how second rate many of our facilities really are.

No one operates a business with losses like these. They are absorbed by the consumer by increased prices.

Didn't Andy say that 95 percent of usage would carry on Good enough for me. Board it up.
