Why does the sidewalk on Second Line stop at Arden Street?

Yes, suddenly everything is important to present councillors obviously just to get re-elected. By the way, why is no one talking about the Sackville extension that looks like a disaster zone when driving by on Third Line?? What happened to that project/promise? This council continually finds new projects to spend our tax dollars on when there are major UNFINISHED projects sitting there literally eroding away! Finish what you started and maintain what we’ve got!

How about addressing the elephant in the room, that being the cheap steel from China and India being dumped into Canada out pricing Canadian steel out of the Canadian market?? The Canadian Government could have dealt with this years ago by imposing tariffs on Chinese and Indian steel yet they won’t even talk about that which makes it suspect. Who is benefiting from this and in cahoots with the government?? That’s right, bring in cheap steel and put Canadian steel mills out of business and steelworkers (taxpayers!!) out of work!! This is “elbows up”?? This is caring about Canadians and their livelihoods?? I THINK NOT!!

Standard time is called “Standard” for a reason. Daylight saving time is great in the 2 (or so) months of summer but to stay on Daylight Saving time would mean children are going to school in the dark as it wouldn’t be light out until at least 9 am!! Think logically people, and enough complaining about this already! Geesh!

Keep « Standard Time » all year long! Our bodies need light first thing in the morning for a healthy start to the day. Also, adults need to take into account that keeping « Daylight Savings Time » all year long means students are either getting a ride/walking to school or waiting for a bus IN THE DARK come the fall and winter, as well as adults heading out to work in the morning. Also, what benefit is there for it to be light out til 10 pm come June/July? Our bodies need to wind down and prepare for a good night’s sleep, for both young and old. Standard Time, believe it or not, would provide a much more balanced and healthier lifestyle. Again, our bodies need light first thing in the morning more so than at night, whether you like to sleep in or not. Do some research. British Columbia will find out for themselves that they should have just eliminated the « spring ahead » time change and just carried on with Standard Time.

Yes, building mega schools was such a great idea wasn’t it? Ridiculous how many school buses are on the road. Not energy efficient, energy responsible, and not environmentally responsible. It’s only going to get worse before it gets better. Suddenly, neighbourhood schools will be a great idea again, a direct result of continuous boost in population. Unbelievable the decisions made without any vision or practicality. Neighbourhood schools would cut down on transportation costs and maybe kids would actually have to walk and get some exercise. What a novel idea!! 💡
