I had the privilege of getting to know Hank in the course of volunteering. Hank was an insightful and caring individual. He accepted everyone for who they were and where they were at --- not for what others might think that they should be. He was a kind and gentle soul. He opened his heart to all who crossed his path, and always had a kind and welcoming word for everyone he met. We are worse off without him.God bless and rest easy Hank.
As much as many may not like this, the current issues are s the result of policies implemented over the last 20 years. Thus, not all of the blame can be laid at the feet of the NDP. The Liberals, including John Rustad must wear this s well. Thus, if I were John, I might be inclined to keep my head low on this
If nothing, this should provide a source of entertainment. Possibly some difficulties may arise on a number of levels. The first relates to the selection of candidates. If the BC United has a candidate that seems considerably superior to the BC Conservatives' candidate in the same riding, one might not be surprised that the BC Conservative candidate (who has gone through the vetting and nomination process) would be a tad upset if they were to be replaced by the former BC United candidate. There is also the dilemma to the voters. If one was leaning to one of the two right-of-centre parties, they may find themselves unhappy with the candidate that remains. Some might suggest that if you are right leaning then you should vote for the BC Conservative candidate regardless of what one's view is. This is concerning because at some point, we need to look at the quality of each individual candidate.
Hang in there Kodiaks. Growth and development in junior football is a marathon and not a sprint. I urge everyone to go the games. Regardless of the outcome, it is very entertaining, and it is great football.
The policies that are currently in place can be laid the feet of previous governments. Thus, all parties get to wear this problem. That does not make it any better. Unfortunately, many of the comments are anecdotal. What are the actual statistics regarding the impact of psychiatric patients taking up surgical beds? Maybe this is true and maybe not. We need to see actual information. In addition, we need to know more specifics and what the proposed solutions will cost. Moreover, instead of trying to re-invent the wheel, why not try to see if we can implement programs that are having success in other parts of the world. Portugal is an example of some degree of effectiveness.
I am with Harry Arms on this one. John is tilting at windmills. It is too bad to hear these kind of comments from John. As to the alleged election irregularities, let's see what the actual investigation reveals. Until that time, maybe John might want to be a bit more subdued.
Glad to see the motion defeated. The same crew of councillors are putting forth ill-considered motions, while wasting their time with other matters that are a waste of time (e.g. PG Citizen awards and chasing after missing gravel). Our library is a gem. I hear the comments about digitalization, but reading actual books is three dimensional vs the two dimensional aspect of reading online. The experience of going to the library and having a tangible interaction with the librarians, and being able to physically explore books is one that cannot be replaced and is necessary for all of us and for our children. At the time of checkout, the library do in fact ask if you want a reminder when the due date is approaching. Having said that, at some point in time we all have to be responsible adults and remember to return books when they are due. I support the late fees. I expect that staff were tired of experiencing abuse when collecting them.
