My one issue with voting in the upcoming election, comes down to Pierre Poilievre and his not wanting to go through the process of obtaining his security clearance. Is he hiding something? Instead he hopes to be elected Prime Minister and automatically be given this necessary security clearance. He has been given a three year pass since becoming leader of the Conservatives. It is time for him to do so and then allow Canadians to decide on our new Prime Minister.
BGeez just move to the US already, then you can live under your hero's thumb and you should have no complaints any longer. What is stopping you? I am sure I can find enough true canadians in PG to help you with your move.
Having a golden myself I think this is sickening that the owner could do this to that poor dog. They are a people pleaser, very affectionate, and loyal breed that only want attention and love in return. Names of these owners that do this should be known once charges are applied, so that they can never own a dog again. Just my humble opinion.
You are exactly right. I am often downtown at night driving and hardly ever see police vehicles in the area anymore. Back in the eighties and nineties when the nightclubs, pubs, arcade were open, they were always patrolling and when it was closing time they made sure to be there to prevent the fights when people congregated outside.
BGeez why don't you do every Canadian a favor and just move to the US. It is laughable that you state we are the ones whining and crying. The only whining and crying that is being heard these days is from Trump, his cabinet, and others that are speaking with him that state " Oh poor us, everyone in the world has been ripping us off for years". Give me a break. Cry babies every last one of them.
I now have an issue with thiss I can't get assistance from the city for being in the hospital, on disability and a long time homeowner, tax paying customer. This city is a joke. Thanks Mayor Yu, council and city administration. GLAD I could contribute with increases every year to the cause.
It seems when Conservative voters win a ballot count everything is on the up and up. When they lose one it is always rigged, or a conspiracy theory. You can't have it both ways as it screams of poor losers.
In the article the other day, Simon Yu says things are getting better downtown. I say to the Mayor, how could you not see the realty that is all around where you work. Maybe, get out and walk around for a few days and see for yourself. Not a ride-along with the cops, but to feel that sense of feeling unsafe that other residents feel when having to go downtown. I was recently in Vancouver and walked down Granville Street and other areas of their downtown. I felt much safer down their than I do walking in our downtown area.
I was going to say something also about that Kay Oss. Is it not a conflict of interest for Mayor Yu to even make a suggestion about vacant downtown properties and spending city tax dollars to clean them up?
I find it disturbing that a person such as Chest RockUwell wants to join the United States and Donald Trump. What is stopping you now from relocating there. if they have it so much better? The only thing Trump is good for is dividing people and creating hatred in society all in less than 2 weeks of being in office. Great job from a leader who still hasn't fulfilled one of his initial promises of ending a war in 24 hours?
With all the issues Prince George is dealing with industry closing, downtown problems and many others. This is what our Mayor is doing with his time in office? We are in big trouble.
BGeez do you even leave your residence? You seem to have no problems with tariffs as it applies to having to buy items, closing schools or anything to do with being out in public. With the amount you comment on this site, I have my doubts.
It could be anything that caused this fire. Things that people may not be aware of. There are many old buildings downtown that still have outdated knob and tube wiring that is expensive to replace. So lets see what they come up with and then we can comment with the knowledge of what the true cause is.
I haven't heard nothing out of Rosalyn Byrd since she was elected. Just sitting back and hoping to get her time in for a nice pension? I hope the voters pay attention to what all three new MLA's do during their first term.
I will be paying city hall a visit to get the definition of a hard surface. Second I expect someone to come out to my home and determine my hard surfaces. Third if they find none, delete the tax from my bill. Funny how they implement this in the winter? So see you soon.
Mr. Mothus I know you help people with their finances and are a popular member of the city, but the retirees, people on disability, etc. that have owned homes for years simply cannot afford this. I don't know if you realize that their are people out there such as this in our city. Not to mention the forest industry has tanked and there has been little to replace it. Most of the good paying jobs here are government workers, who are paid with taxpayer dollars. Private industry has dried up in this immediate area and anything to replace it will take years to come to fruition. One has to look at the big picture when making these kinds of decisions. Some people work two or three jobs and may make what you suggest a council member should make.
The public will forget about this case if and when the names and a final outcome is announced. That seems to be the theme when keeping the citizens of PG safe.
One of these people should not be on this committee to determine the pay raises of council and mayor. I don't know about the others but I am suspecting that a friend connection exists between that person and some of the people receiving the raises. It stinks of nepotism, that is just my opinion.
This kind of thing is exactly what I have been talking about with some of my previous posts of the fact that Council puts in endless motions and refers everything back to administration for additional reports and spends an hour and a half discussing a matter that could take a half hour. They bog everything down so that the functioning of the city comes to a screeching halt. It is not necessary in a lot of cases and very unproductive.
With the amount of industry that is shutting down and the ones that get turned away, I don't see any chance at reaching the population targets for the years of 2040 and 2050. I have lived here long enough to know that the public sector jobs cannot continue to increase without the private sector being revitalized at the same rate. It is just unsustainable for anyone who understands economics.
