My one issue with voting in the upcoming election, comes down to Pierre Poilievre and his not wanting to go through the process of obtaining his security clearance. Is he hiding something? Instead he hopes to be elected Prime Minister and automatically be given this necessary security clearance. He has been given a three year pass since becoming leader of the Conservatives. It is time for him to do so and then allow Canadians to decide on our new Prime Minister.
BGeez just move to the US already, then you can live under your hero's thumb and you should have no complaints any longer. What is stopping you? I am sure I can find enough true canadians in PG to help you with your move.
BGeez why don't you do every Canadian a favor and just move to the US. It is laughable that you state we are the ones whining and crying. The only whining and crying that is being heard these days is from Trump, his cabinet, and others that are speaking with him that state " Oh poor us, everyone in the world has been ripping us off for years". Give me a break. Cry babies every last one of them.
I now have an issue with thiss I can't get assistance from the city for being in the hospital, on disability and a long time homeowner, tax paying customer. This city is a joke. Thanks Mayor Yu, council and city administration. GLAD I could contribute with increases every year to the cause.
I was going to say something also about that Kay Oss. Is it not a conflict of interest for Mayor Yu to even make a suggestion about vacant downtown properties and spending city tax dollars to clean them up?
I find it disturbing that a person such as Chest RockUwell wants to join the United States and Donald Trump. What is stopping you now from relocating there. if they have it so much better? The only thing Trump is good for is dividing people and creating hatred in society all in less than 2 weeks of being in office. Great job from a leader who still hasn't fulfilled one of his initial promises of ending a war in 24 hours?
BGeez do you even leave your residence? You seem to have no problems with tariffs as it applies to having to buy items, closing schools or anything to do with being out in public. With the amount you comment on this site, I have my doubts.
With the amount of industry that is shutting down and the ones that get turned away, I don't see any chance at reaching the population targets for the years of 2040 and 2050. I have lived here long enough to know that the public sector jobs cannot continue to increase without the private sector being revitalized at the same rate. It is just unsustainable for anyone who understands economics.
I think they should leave the CIDES program continue. It gives a person a free shot as an adult to begin to further their education. With the cost of everything today, education would be the last thing people with little money would go back to school. Especially if they are earning a basic wage and they have to shelter, eat. etc. Once they get into higher education, yes they will have pay, but it would be helpful in the beginning and give them time to apply for student loans, etc.
BGeez I have spent over 6 months in hospital in 2024 and the nurses work 12 hour shifts and many of them work a lot of extra shifts because there is no one to cover. So when you say they don't know how to work 5 days a week, many are actually working five or six shifts in a row at 12 hours a shift. Remember that these shifts also can stagger from days to nights while playing havoc on their bodies and minds. Maybe you should research things before you go off on embarrassing yourself.
$5 dollars to ensure the tower and additional beds are there for people who need them is more than reasonable to me. Having spent over 6 months in hospitals in 2024, I appreciated having a bed that wouldn't have bankrupted myself, as it surely would have if Trump and the US get their way. Remember that all the ones in Canada that wish for us to become the 51 first state.
I have observed something in PG over my many years of living here that is getting progressively worse over time. We have a lack of trust when it comes to being out and about and providing that feeling of being safe in many settings. One of the few places where people congregate and have that little bit of feeling of safety is Ginters Park. We need to maintain, enhance the safety for citizens of our city in not only Ginters but other areas where people can gather and feel a small level of security, so that we do not end up being like other large centers in our province. Lighting and welcoming areas that provide that continued security, go a long ways to help people to remain the social creatures that we are.
