I am sure whatever she announces will be trivial. I am sure she does not want to rile up the separatist and MAGA types within the UCP. Meanwhile, the rest of Albertans want a strong Canada First response.
Under Harper, Aimco will be giving UNDER MARKET PRICE financing to Oil companies. I am sure given the Green movement in the financial markets Pathways Alliance will have to pay a premium price. I am sure they also will buy TMX. All the nurses teacher and civil servants pensions will have lower returns and risk.
RJ is wrong. The invisible MLA only comes out to DOX people.RJ is special, "Sigurdson is one of more than 20 UCP MLAs" which makes him part of the elite 43% UCP MLAs that are being recalled. Smith is doing everything she can to stop those recalls.
Cutting vaccine funding will cost individuals and the Province as a whole. As the rates are lowered, more and more people will get sick and more and more people will die or end up in hospital. There's the personal cost of sickness and the economic cost for businesses and the economy, and the Provincial Health care. The interchange on 338 he said. "so that we can move the project into our next budget year or the year following and actually get shovels in the ground." Today we are 2025/26 budget year, next is 26/27 and the 'following" is 27/28 which means the work will start in 2028 or later.
Well I hope somehow that the City has to fix some of the problems that are affecting County and Okotoks residents. Specifically, we have to deal with all the traffic on Macleod Trail. Overpasses have to be built at 194 Avenue. Calgary has in the past put a special infrastructure fee on lot sales to finance interchanges on Macleod Trail.I'm tired of traffic light on a Provincial Highway that only benefits developers.
It keeps getting pushed back. I had checked previously and it was supposed to happen early next year. Money keeps being mentioned for the delay. Obviously, Smith and the UCP are spending the money on their pet projects like their provincial Police Force that is not needed or wanted, endless commissions and surveys on Separation, and trips to woo Trump. That trip did nothing for Alberta or Canada. The UCP has to start working for real Albertans not the fringe one.
Where's our MLA RJ Sigurdson? This intersection has been a Killing Field for years. Study after study and maybe in 2027 they will start the overpass. There's no money for this project, but there is for every other hair brained idea the UCP has.
The Council and admin really do not know what they are doing. “We were not expecting to be in this position for four years” Roll down your windows while you're driving around and look at all the growth.
It's our do nothing MLA that doesn't get funding to build the overpass. They spend our money on $70 million plus on medicine that wasn't or ever will be used and over $5 million storing it. Danielle got some great oiler tickets from the guy that did that deal.
Federal Funding is not here yet?Last year in the run up to the election, it was revealed the Pierre Poilievre told MPs, including our John Barlow, to stop helping the Liberal Government on these projects.Playing petty politics has real world consequences for people in Canada.
Is the City paying for this or is there an association or business levy that's paying 'Strategy"? I have never heard of any other "strategies" for Dentists, Barbers or many other businesses.
Fighting with Ottawa again. I have been reading the bill and it the kind of legislation we need to avoid epidemics and have ongoing health of our citizens. Right now the world is worried about the transmission of H5N1 virus which has the potential to be very bad. This legislation would be helping avoid it BEFORE it becomes deadly. This is not a government bill, it is a Private Members bill. Private members bills usually do not get house consent, which means the MPs think it is a good idea. You can read it yourselfhttps://www.parl.ca/documentviewer/en/44-1/bill/C-293/third-reading
There has to be a change in the law. Municipalities have to be able to file lien or charge against the wells and associated assets and O&G production. This will dry up financing for the offending companies one the lenders see all their liabilities. There was a bankrupt company recently that the UCP let come back to life with no liabilities. The province has assumed responsibility for their well cleanup. The Province, municipalities and creditors were left holding the bag and UCP cronies walked away with the remaining producing wells.
I am not impressed with the aesthetics of the building. It a farm shed that is built right up to the property line on 32nd Street. It will be ugly, unimaginative and an eye sore forever. Sometimes we forget that cities exist for thousands of years. The Okotoks Planning department has to do better.
Okotoks has known about the water shortage for decades. All the new lots, for decades, should have had a special assessment when they were created. Calgary has used this technique in the past to pay for infrastructures like over passes for new developments. The last time is checked, 4-5 years ago, Okotoks had a lower infrastructure charge on new lots than Calgary. Okotoks is being run for the benefit of Developers not citizens.
The UCP underfunds public education. They have lots of money to give the oil industry. It used to be that there were a few areas that needed money, but now to quote the Principal, “I could think of 100 examples without much exaggeration that would be the sort of instances where the foundation could help,”The government should be run for the benefit of citizens not for the benefit of Lobbyists.
How were they able to run a restaurant with a well that was unsafe? I've drilled several wells and there are guidelines on how to do it correctly and safely. I speculate with the high ground water levels from all the rain and the runoff from the rain it was contaminated.I certainly hope the remediation is much more than shocking the well or it will occur again.
