What are the protesters counter proposals? I can see a lot in favor of involuntary admission, under specific, narrow circumstances but I see none of its critics offering something better. They seem to just speak in generalities and make blanket statements like "the involuntary care plan will do more damage to an already marginalized group of people." Personally I'd far rather have someone with brain damage I care about involuntarily getting professional medical care, plus three hots and a cot, instead of doing contaminated drugs and passing out in a fire trap in Moccasin Flats.
It sounds like Higham has a lot of contempt for her constituents. It seems we'd all be better off without her and I suspect she'd also be happier doing something else.
Given all these fires are obviously caused by either arson or profound, ongoing negligence, is there any reason to think the new location won't get burned to the ground too?
In what way does this lady fit the definition of victim? This seems blatantly sexist. If the guy had flipped her off, then thrown a coffee in her face and she'd hit him back, who do you think would have been charged?
How much of that money if for the "extensive refurbishment" and how much is for the upgrading? Maintenance is a necessity but going even deeper into debt for some fancy upgrades to this pool immediately after spending $39 million on a new pool seems ill advised to say the very least.
This is a long time coming and sorely needed, as I can personally attest, but $3,000 per member, per year to run what's essentially a glorified dashcam is ridiculous.
This is great news. I feel like bus service is good during the week, for a city this size, but weekends and Sundays in particular, the service is limited to the point that walking half way across town is often a better option, time wise.
I feel like the impact all this new foreign competition for finite resources is going to have on domestic prices should be part of every discussion about the project, rather than a simple 'go team Canada' type analysis. We should now be entering the phase where those price hikes start to become a reality, so perhaps we'll talk about more, now that it's too late.
