POLL: Most support province's curbs on new bike lanes

If bike lanes add to congestion explain how not a single 400 series highway has a bikelane but is ALWAYS congested. You cant bike on any freeway in southern Ontario but theyre always slow and full. I'll wait

MrHandy did it occurr to you people "struggling" are due to their own hands? Cant be struggling too hard, seems to be a consistant line of people heading out of stores with great big TVs and other things. Lots of new cars out there, you'd think if everyone were struggling you'd see a lot more rust buckets not $400+/month payments on new cars being made.

You see any given portion of any bike lane for half a second at a time. I could say the same for roads, always empty for the half second I see them. I bet if I sat outside and counted traffic, divided it by the seconds in an hour, the small bit would get used less than 1 minute per hour. Sounds pretty empty better rip out this street.

All I need to say about this is yeah.......good luck with that. How many underage kids already do things "banned" from their age group. They'll find a way, always have and always will. How long have teenagers been drinking, smoking, drugs, even driving again? Oh yea, almost all of modern history since we've had age limits for those things thats right.

I bet if there was more you'd see more. There is less than 100km of bike lanes in the whole city. Compared to road lanes which is enough to drive to Mexico hardly a drop in the bucket.

Great to see the mayor change their mind and order bike lane plowing! As I pointed out earlier, bike lanes aren’t just for a handful of winter cyclists—thousands of disabled and elderly people rely on them as vital, accessible routes every day.Under Ontario’s Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), mobility aids like power wheelchairs and scooters are legally allowed in bike lanes. The Ontario Human Rights Code protects this access, making it discriminatory to block these lanes. So when you hear “only 6 cyclists in winter,” know that bike lanes serve thousands who need safe, clear paths to travel independently. Plowing bike lanes isn’t a luxury—it’s a basic accessibility right and a step toward an inclusive city. Good on the Mayor, maybe you can call Sudbury mayor and change his mind. Or I might just move to Guelph.

I love how when theres a car collision they just sweep the broken glass in that painted excuse for a bike lane. Thanks for that guys

Each and every one of them should have a lifetime ban on driving. Its a privilige not a right and you have no right to endanger everyone else on the road because the space between your ears isnt as full as it should be

Put them on the sidewalk as pedestrians where they belong then. My car weighs 3400lbs, a 30lb bike and and average car that size dont belong together. Trucks are bigger, neither give the 1m space to pass. Ive been riding on the sidewalk since I was 6, never had an issue with a person walking, sure had many with cars that recently put me in hospital and now have a permanent accesible parking permit for my troubles, lucky me.

I think you need to reread the drivers handbook. Most of those are in there but you'd know that if you read it

Why is 1 more important than the other? Theyre all an equal part in a functional transportation system

I would support it being manditory in all vehicles. Same with speed limiters based on speed limits

This Trudeau vs PP thing is funny. I couldnt care less either way, really I'd rather see somebody like Singh win just so we can watch the US president and senators have to sit down and be friendly to a man with a turban. Act all nice because we are a friend to somebody clearly for whatever reason they have a huge hate for. It may even calm some problems in the world with them.

Im by far no fan of Ford's, but its about time somebody made what should have happened the day Trump 1st tariffs in place happen, just walk away. Last I checked there was over 190 other countries on the planet to trade with, walk away from Trump, stop any and all trade with them. In the big picture the US is simply a small blip, 8 billion people on Earth, only 347 million reside there, we can afford to lose them. Bye bye MAGA crew, find your oil, fresh water and electricity somewhere else, thats just a start.
