I have a dog that I walk on leash and she has never barked at a deer. in fact she is indifferent to them. I am animal aware and never get between moms and babies, however I have been charged several times while walking and one incident involving a deer that was so aggressive a passerby had to intervene with a vehicle in order for my dog and myself to escape. I don't think it's fair to say that the dog provoked it as not all dogs bark at everything they see. I have also encountered an aggressive deer while walking on my own so again not fair to say all incidents involve dogs. Perhaps if we didn't keep building and tearing up their habitat they wouldn't end up on town streets. I don't ever remember having problems like this before this excessive growth council has implemented.
I agree, everyone should have voted, and let's not forget that there were two opponents running against Mayor Thorn (both for slowed sustainable growth) that combined took 4143.00 votes to her 2985. If only one of them had run she would not have been elected. Pretty clear message. In the last four years I have watched the town I loved for 23 years be systematically destroyed by the mayors refusal to listen to the people she was originally elected to represent. I for one am all for recalling her if that is possible. The traffic is congested and dangerous, so many lights it takes longer to get from Sheep River heights to Hwy 2 that from Hwy 2 to Central Calgary. What is the hill from Fas Gas to No Frills going to look like when icy, it's already backed up from the light to Darcy in busy times. I would also like to add that we would not need to increase property taxes to provide more safety services if the town was kept to the original sustainability reports recommendations.
There is no point in attending. This is just another attempt from council to give the illusion that they are listening and acting on the wishes of their constituents. How can they expect us to submit pre approved questions when we haven't even heard what their plans are. This will just be like the removal of the population cap and all the other developments. They will do as they wish and too bad for those of us who have lived here and supported our community for 20 plus years.
Exactly where are we supposed to store these monstrosities, the three the town insists I have to pay for already take up too much space in my driveway, adding a larger one will only make it worse. How about the town gives us an option to opt out of the service altogether as a way to save money.
