In Guelph, and across Ontrio this week, Doug Ford embraced cruelty

So he closes safe consumption sites at the same time exanding the availability of alcohol in Ontario which no doubt will impact the health and welfare of Ontarions. Research shows that greater availability of alcohol leads to higher rates of consumption and, consequently, more alcohol-related harms Including increased instances of impaired driving, violence, and other public safety issues. So Ford is more thant willing to not only tolerate one type of addiction in fact be responsible for escalating it. This is going to cost all if us. Premier Doug Ford's push to get beer and wine into convenience stores ahead of schedule will cost Ontario taxpayers at least $225 million, but there's evidence the full price tag actually adds up to hundreds of millions more. Imagine the strides we could take should money like that be diverted to treatment and housing.

Thumbs up for the artists. I think the artist's work is appropriate given the topic of the installation and I certainly think the City should not have removed the exhibit without communicating with the artists. Racism is rampant and needs to be confronted head on and in a just society, it is our responsibility to support those who have been the recipients of prejudice and censorship.

You think that was Ford Bashing? I think it was a balanced piece. He gave him credit where credit was due. The criticism was well earned.

Well done. I am so glad you got this job, I never miss your insightful posts. Also it is so crucial to have consise analyses of what is happening at City Hall. It is sorely needed.

Kevin is right. Canada announced tariffs on Chinese goods last August following similar duties being imposed by the U.S. and the European Union against Chinese-made EVs and other products. The Western governments say China's subsidies give its industry an unfair advantage.Mar 8, 2025 Then China retaliated. If I have no other option, I will buy from China before USA. And it appears Doug Ford of whom I assume you approve has taken a liking to PM Carney. How's that sitting with you?

i find I have to ask about everything. Metro advetises their Canadian beef. They have striploin on sale and upon asking where it was from, I was told a mix of CDN and US. So I didn't buy it.

Besides which the election is only a month away so I doubt there will be any issues so critical that her voice would absolutely need to be heard.

Well let's hope no one buys them and they start to wake up to the reality of the situtuation we are in. We need to hit the US with we everything we possibly can. There are lots of alternatives and gtocery stores should be seeking those out.

Ridiculous. Bylaws need to be subject to circumstances. Someone reported my tenant's car as"abandoned" as it had not moved it in 4 days. She received a notification that if it was not moved her car would be towed. As it turned out, she was ill. It was parked in front of her home on Cambridge St. I immediately phone the bylaw manager and explained the situation and his reply was that sometimes bylaw officers are sometimes over zealous and he cancelled it. I do not know who made the complaint but it is often neighbours who are feuding. I certainly hope this gets overturned. I think there should be a petition to the city council.
Are you really encouraging people to support a country that is bent on destroying our economy and threatening to annex us? No one takes you seriously. You're Just trying to start a controversy where there isn't any.
