"We are confident that we are doing the most fiscally responsible thing for the community?" says the Mayor. That would have been to negotiate the original sale with ironclad mandatory development deadlines and penalties if they weren't met. There was no accountability expected from the developer for prime waterfront real estate. The city clearly did not do its homework. The taxpayers have already spent enough money putting up a fence the developer should have paid for. I don't think Council should be wasting any more of the taxpayers money - definitely not 4.75 million. My gut feeling is it will play out like the Mill Market move to Queen Street with the taxpayers contributing more than they should have for something that appears to be a white elephant from where I'm sitting. Every time I go there are only a few vendors on site and the rest closed. It should have been left where it was. Just saying.
THEY SHOULD CLOSE DOWN WSIB, IT DOES NOT TAKE CARE OF INJURED WORKERS AT ALL THEY. ACTUALLY HARASS THE INJURED WORKERS , THEY EVEN GO AGAINST THEIR OWN ORTHOPEADIC DR. IN TORONTO. AND ALSO PAY COMPANYS A REBATE TO THEM NOT TO INJURED WORKERS GO FIGURE THAT I KNOW WITH MY EXPERIENCE THEIR TERRIBLE AND MANY OTHERS I TALK TO. YOU CAN SAVE TAX DOLLARS CLOSE IT DOWN .THE INTENTION WAS A GOOD ONE FOR YEARS BUT NOT ANYMORE.
OUTSIDE CONTRACTORS SHOULD BE GONE BEFORE ALGOMA STEEL WORKERS ARE LAID OFF OR PERMANENTLY GONE. ESPECIALLY THE OUTSIDE CONTRACTORS FROM THE USA CONNECTION. NO CONTRACTING SERVICES SHOULD BE THEIR RELATING TO USA COMPANYS.
So many people got flat tires because of these potholes, maybe we should cut off the tax's to see how they like it, and most of the time they don't pay out.
